Short but very emotional experience with multiple endings.
I personally think it should be free...not enough story or gameplay for the price. I think this game could have been really touching, if the characters, story, and everything else were given more detail and depth. It's not a bad concept, but it just feels like that: a concept, very underdeveloped.
hikayesi ortalama olan bir rpgmaker oyunu oynanış fena değil konusu iyi gideri var
Content warning:
child and parent murder
Interesting concept, but the execution is very amateurish. The writing is extremely shallow while trying to be dramatic; the whole game feels like it was written by an angsty teenager. And even with 17 different endings/angles to the story, the specifics remain vague and nonsensical. Also I was really missing some sort of indication of which decision branches I've already played through instead of having to keep it all in mind. At least it doesn't overstay its welcome - all 17 endings can be finished in about 45 minutes.

"Sometimes You" makes weird nonsensical stuff buh
Part of me really wants to put a positive spin on this game because I want to see more from its creator, if for no reason than to see that cute “Sang Game Boy” logo on another game. Is it anything special, though? No, don’t even think it’s good. I guess when it comes to 2010s RPGMaker games, I’m used to seeing games that are obviously broken or unfinished, while this is simply not particularly deep. It’s a super short game, pretty much a proof-of-concept, and you could argue that it works as such. The writing isn’t cringeworthy, but it doesn’t sound very natural either. For example, I don’t recall ever seeing a native English-writer use the contraction “this’s.” The murder revenge plot, the moral dilemma, and the mystery are coherent, but they don’t offer any fun twists, much less compelling storytelling or character writing. Dear Red neither amuses nor intrigues me. On the flip side, I am neither particularly offended nor bored by it. It has decent direction and is mostly functional. I’ve seen people saying that the achievements are bugged, so I don’t know if I was just lucky or if they got fixed. I’m half-curious to see what the “long” sequel that the developer was planning to make might look like, just so the world can understand his real vision and capabilities, but it’s been years without an update, so… I would like to say this to the developer: Mr. Sang, based on my personal standards, I cannot recommend this game as a purchase, but I implore you, for the sake of posterity, please follow your dreams.
The dad clearly made a really stupid decision. I also made one by playing through all the endings.
💋
Preety nice, quite a few endings and secrest with it. Deserves more than ''neutral reviews''. It's way too small, but enjoyable
