Bought it for the card game, Story in the game is amazing though. Then they came out with a card game version. Instantly bought it too. You got a fan I guess. Good devs, love the card game and collection, reminds me of my old GameBoy Color playin "Pokemon: The Card Game". Wish more games had adventure lite mechanics and card collection.
I was actually looking forward to trying this after buying, but after seeing a lot of issues with spelling of words inside the first 5 minutes, it's not something that I want to play anymore. There's no excuse for it, really. I'm not sure if the game was made by non-native English speakers, but when so many translation tools are available, I feel like it has to be mentioned. Also, had I known the game was made in RPG maker, I wouldn't have bothered.
Best game ever. Have played it for a total of 40 hours so far and I cant stop. Definitely worth the buy.
The card game in this game in this game reminded me of magic the gathering, but with only 3 hours in im hooked and havent even reached the cards yet!! The detail put into this is crazy!
Plenty of hours and content in this game to keep someone amused. Tho the UI is clunky and the control scheme setup is annoying af. Its not a bad game.
Cons : This game is bad. - You quickly find out that combat is boring, ultra repetitive, non-innovative. Final Fantasy 1 was better. At least at that time, the game didn't feel like it was THREE DECADES OLD. - You spend too much time walking around, I have no idea why would anyone spend so much time doing nothing in a game. It just amazes me. Pros : extremely weird people who have a *LOT* of time to waste could love this game, so there IS a niche for this game.
Bottom line - WAY WORTH THE MONEY. Bug free and lots of content. Positives: Enough to do of enough kinds that its hard to get bored. Survival mechanics, crafting of all kinds, fishing, farming, quests, and puzzles. And its all profitable if you bother with it. Card game too. The open world is seriously huge. There is a contiguous underworld. But you can fast travel if you like. Lots of recruitable characters. Steam achievements equate to in-game, permanent stat increases. I haven't beat the game yet, but there is a new game+ option on clear. Neutrals: There's a unique feature where you can switch a characters class at any time, shuffling their abilities accordingly to suit a situation. For example you can play your main as a tank, healer, or glass-cannon. Take your pick. I really like it, but this might irritate purists. The story has some unique elements. In the end you're still roaming the world and killing big-bads, but without spoiling too much, you're not a very nice guy, and up against a threat that is different from the standard angel and demon archetypes. Negatives: Again, I haven't beat the game, but there doesn't appear to be progression of any sort with weapons - no associated vendors, finds, or crafting recipes. This appears to be an intentional part of the final build as leveling is sufficient to maintain attack at a high enough level to contend with enemies. For such a thoroughly complete and expansive game, this is an otherwise mystifying choice by the developer. The interface is workable, but not very good. One or two many button clicks to do some basic stuff. Negatives aside, this is overwhelmingly a worthwhile add to your library. Honestly feels kind of like Skyrim ported over to RPG maker. I'm having lots of fun.
honestly, one of my new favorite games for rpgs at the moment. I love this game dude, you put a lot into it and you can tell. I was wanting to wait until I beat the game, but I just wanted you to know this is so cool and I'm thankful to play this game. Im not sure why I was talking to a tree lol
I've tried to put some time into this game a couple times and try it out but I just can't get past the first hour. The whole system feels clunky and awkward. The UI is awful, navigating the menus is awful, the almost threatening sleep & sustenance system is not fun to engage with. It takes forever to run around and the map provided is not very helpful. The TCG minigame is very confusing, the overall RPG Maker fights feel weird and there's not enough information or feedback given to understand what's going on. I could honestly go on and on. There's just *something* that's making the playing of this game feel very uncomfortable and unnatural. There's clearly a ton of work put into this game but everything just doesn't feel right and it doesn't seem to fit together. There's some good ideas here(e.g. running around a seemingly open world for you to explore, gathering materials to craft items and food, finding companions out in the world and raising rep with them by having them in your party, etc.) but there's also some really awkward and bad ideas put into this game.
Fun RPG game. If you like more fast paced gaming, skip the intro, but the story itself is interesting. Fun mini games like the card game caught my attention for a lot longer than I would like to admit :) Also crafting armor and weapons is a cool touch.
