[b]Close Me[/b] is a shy game with simple goals. It's a moving sketchpad of depressing color palletes. Even the main mechanic of the game is sad. In order to progress ahead you have to exit the game after doing certain tasks. These include, inspecting a blank crumbled up note in your bathroom toilet, or simply going to bed. Your character is faceless, but who cares? It feels like the game is crying because it's in a constant state of sorrow. This game has a weird quality where it depresses your mood on a very visual level. Routinary levels with washed out blue and red hues really incentivize the player to quit the game and go to sleep. And in a weird way, that's effective because that's how you advance the plot, by exiting. The only problem is that sometimes you close it, and never open it. It just stays there in your virtual shelf, collecting dust by the megabites. I bet it's is sad about that too. So yea, play [b]Close Me,[/b] a game that captures the aesthetics of depression, or don't. The game probably doesn't want you to play it, or it does, either way it's still sad.

❌❌The worst game I've ever played. You start the game and you don't know what's going on, nothing is explained ❌Disgusting graphics ❌This game should be free; it's not worth any money ❌No atmosphere whatsoever ❌The soundtrack is terrible, lacking emotion, and you can't turn it off ❌You can't turn on the game settings ❌❌❌Verdict: [b] Bad [/b] ,[strike] Decent [/strike] ,[strike] Good [/strike] , [strike] Very good [/strike] , [strike] Excelent [/strike] , [strike] Masterpiece [/strike] If you have any questions about my reviews, feel free to ask. What an interesting experience! Think of this more as a surrealistic experiment in gaming, more so than a linear game in the traditional sense of the word. With the silent protagonist and subjective, dream-like way of storytelling, it leaves much up to the imagination. There's lots of secrets hidden here, so every player's experience with the game might be a little different depending on how diligent you are. As you solve puzzles and explore, you piece elements together to form a story in your mind. The puzzles are challenging, but not impossible. Just takes a little deep thinking and good ol' fashioned determination. The art is minimal but effective, and I enjoy the imperfect, rough-around-the-edges style of design. Sound and music seem to play key roles, so keep those ears open and listen closely. I also really enjoy the way the game utilizes its own unique mechanics such as the need to close the game in order to progress further and the time system; which, depending on what literal time of day or night you play, will cause drastic or subtle changes in the environment. What I love most is how Yai Gameworks is evolving over the years and developing its very own world and mythology which seem to spread from game to game. It creates a cohesion among chaos and makes me as a player (and longtime fan) even more excited for what comes next!
I downloaded this game on sale for next to nothing, and I expected just as much. However, after a year of playing the game on and off, I finally figured out what this game is all about. It's an abstract puzzle game with some horror elements. It's not for everyone, but I would 100% recomend.
Full disclosure: I have not "beaten" this game yet, and to be honest, it has some problems. I'm recommending it on the grounds that Yai Gameworks is a talented, risky, and creative developer who deserves to be on more peoples' radars and the fact that this is just a dollar means, even if you end up not liking it, it's still going towards a worth while dev and is so unique that it must be played. The gimmick here is that every time you close and open the game, something has changed. It's a wicked trait, and each cycleyou theoretically solve more puzzles and dive further into the game's abstract but simple story. I love the set up and structure of this. The problem for me is that the puzzles are... just too obtuse. Like, so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ obtuse that sometimes you solve one without realizing what you've done or what kind of effect it has on the game. I've been digging on the sparse user discussions and it only gets trickier as you go on, and there are puzzles that are dependent on the real life time of day. It's frustrating knowing that, because without any guide or some kind of in game hint system, it's impossible to know if you're just missing something that's staring you in the face or if you need to play at a different time of day. Like I said, though, Yai is a dev that needs as much support as they can get, and buying this game, despite how difficult it is to figure out, is a step towards them getting more exposure. I just wish they hadn't gone overboard with the cryptic nature of this title.
Okay...so.. I was initially drawn to the idea of solving this little mystery...the game changing every time you do different things...etc. But I never felt scared, creeped out, or anything other than....annoyed. I felt like I was just trying to FINISH the game. It's like...when you start a new series and you're not into it but you feel like you should at least finish the season your on because you wasted enough time watching the first couple of episodes. (....Too honest?) Anyway--I see that some people enjoyed it, power to you, but...the whole thing just felt a bit too juvenile for me... I wanted to like you---but I think I'm going to have to break up with this game.
A nice Abstract horror game with a big focus on puzzles. You'll definitely get your money's worth here and those who are more interested in a scary atmosphere and like puzzles will be right at home. Don't worry if you get stumped though. The community discussion board has answered a lot of the major hurdles you might face if you're like me and tend to get stuck on puzzles easily. Be sure to play with heaphones or the sound cranked up!
[b]О дивні інді ігри![/b] Одразу скажу, що в мене є всі ігри від Yai Gameworks, ні про що не шкодую, чекаю на вихід анонсованих нових ігор, як на свято. Коротше кажучи it's my favourite kind of weird, навіть серед специфічних інді ігор дуже мало настільки специфічних штук.
A very unique game. Despite the game's whole concept of "waiting", it is still paced very well that lets the player get scared when they least expect it. It is a very subtle horror game that is great for chills and sleepless nights. But then again, I am a massive scaredy cat. Just when you are about to forget, it reminds with haunting music that sounds amazing.
