One of my favorite games of all time, I love every aspect of it. I love the gameplay, the story, the characters, and the music. I always come back to this game every now and then to enjoy it all over again.

A perfect sequel and a fantastic game de Blob 2 achieves what most video game sequels strive to do - it improves on every aspect of the original game and adds new elements that enhance the core experience without losing sight of what made its predecessor so good. Compared to de Blob 1, there is a massive visual upgrade, especially in the cutscenes which are gorgeously animated and even funnier. Blob himself has a more expressive design. The music is just as good, if not better. The levels are better designed and more distinct from each other. New enemies, abilities and power-ups do a lot to vary the texture and pacing of the game. The platforming is greatly improved as Blob no longer automatically sticks to walls. Transforming monuments now involves its own side-scrolling platform sections instead of just mashing a button. Time-limited challenges are gone, making especially the painting challenges where specific colours are needed on specific buildings, much less frustrating. The political themes are even more prevalent, with the story involving rigged elections, radio propaganda, cults of personality, student protests, and unionisation of workers. My main complaint - and I don't know if everyone experiences this - but I encountered a major bug where Blob would continue to splutter and retch after getting covered in black ink, and getting it washed off. The 'inked Blob' voice lines would even play during the in-level cutscenes and would not stop until I died or restarted from the last checkpoint. Avoiding getting inked in the first place is far harder in this game than the last. Luckily, the community has already found a fix which involves making some edits in the game files. Keep this in mind if you encounter the bug! It's sad that this is where the franchise ended - after releasing on the Wii, PS3 and 360 in 2010, it both sold and reviewed worse than de Blob 1, and Bluetongue was shut down soon after due to financial trouble. At least it ended on a high note.
