best online ww2 there is.. its time for them to make source 2

Day of Defeat: Source. A hallowed classic of an era of better times. It isn't my favorite Source engine game, but I have a few hundred hours (between two accounts, lost my old one) in this game and Day of Defeat. I feel that it filled a niche in the military shooter genre that was distinct and different enough from Call of Duty and Medal of Honor. Story: Two factions (U.S. Army and German Wehrmacht) from the World War II period fight each other on various maps and modes for victory. Length: Infinite, the community is rather quiet these days, but it is still very functional unlike certain other companies that hate gamers. There is a ton of replayability with the mods and custom maps. Gameplay: If you have played Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike: Source, or Left 4 Dead, the gunplay is very similar to those games with a somewhat more realistic approach to how each weapon feels. Bullet drop and recoil is a big factor for skilled play. Anyway, you select a team to play on and depending on which game mode you are playing, the objective is different. There is Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, King of the Hill, Gun Game, and many more with mods. After that, select a class with a preset loadout of weapons (like Battlefield) and shoot the enemy dead or capture the objective. That simple. Audio: I always enjoyed the menu theme and the weapons sounded excellent for the time and still sound good by today's standards. Graphics: It is somewhat dated now, but the maps are well designed with thoughtful input for gameplay options when playing the various modes on each map. Also, I still think the weapon and character models look very accurate and further immerse the player. UI/Bugs: It is a Source game, the menus, options, accessibility, and interfaces are sleek and filled with quality of life. Also, it does this without being overwhelming and/or breaks immersion. I don't recall any bugs in this game. Valve has always been pretty solid with game design. Conclusion: A shame, but a natural course for all things with time. There are people that have not experienced this amazing and unique multiplayer military shooter, but I would hope my recommendations reach some of those people. The majority of the Source titles are awesome to play (not Zeno Clash, eww). If you are a fan of Half-Life, this will feel somewhat familiar. If you enjoy Source engine games, another great recommend. If you like military sims, this is far from the best, but the community is small, but great.
Живой онлайн, подключение без танцев с бубном, бои быстрые, карты интересные, всем рекомендую для игры, как в соло, так и с друзьями)
