Games instructions are very vague. Would not be able to progress easily/now where to go or what to do without a guide. The only guide i can find is player made, and also very vague. Played for 3 hours and got to day 2 only to find I had missed picking up a key required to progress. That I can no longer get because the path leading to the key is blocked. I will be coming back to this game sometime later.
Subtle spoilers ahead, though I tried to mitigate it to talk about the game without revealing anything that specifically happens. DashBored, even with it's jank in some areas of the game, was genuinely worth every minute I played, I had been streaming with my girlfriend the first time I played, going in entirely blind, and when I would say something in reaction to something that had happened, I would proceed the dialogue and it would be the EXACT thing Nicolas said word for word, happened three separate times, both infuriated and amused me how similar I was to the guy. Beyond that humorous account, Nicolas' story arc hit incredibly close to home for me, feeling hopeless, isolating yourself from everyone around you and especially the monologues in both the city ending and the bad ending were incredibly gut-wrenching because of how much I related to Nicolas' feelings of inadequacy. Even still, the lore I got to sift through, the subtle hints that made me feel like a crazy conspiracy theorist with a cork board and an excessive amount of red string trying to piece it all together was invigorating. I can't play a lot of higher end games since I'm running this all on just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ HP laptop I've had since my freshman year of highschool and a dream, but I hold both Psychopomp GOLD and DashBored (NashBored too by extension) close to my heart more than I'd say pretty much anything else I've played, no other games have made me obsesses over scraps of story and lore while also leaving enough room for me to piece together my own interpretation, and god when I got it to all click, when the dots connected on something, there is no better feeling in my little brain to be the one to figure it all out.

Jogo excelente, amei a estética em pixel com as mecânicas de combate em turno que se encaixam bem. A primeira jogatina me rendeu boas 8h úteis de jogo, a segunda me levou cerca de 4h 30m.
My dash was in fact quite bored

You probably got here from Psychopomp like I did and if you're looking for specifically that same feeling again. You'll likely get a similar charm to that game like I personally did, there's similar character designs, music, worldbuilding and etc which is all there if you're into that. Personally though I think this game is much much more interesting in the perspective of seeing someone's roots and where they started out. This game has alot of that 'this is my first time making something like this' feeling to it but that's not a negative I find that really charming. It's an interesting thing to see someone who you know made something so atmospheric and rich in storytelling and meaning make something so comedic and fun. In practice though, it's a short maybe 4-8 hour rpg (depends on how completionist you are). The gameplay is fairly basic but it's absolutely enough for the length and there's quite a bit to chew on with side content. The story is a slight mixed bag with some parts that feel like a slight time waste and things that really elevate the story when you begin connecting the dots and digging into it. Really overall i think it's a surprisingly STRONG start for a developer that's kept a very strong sense of identity through all their games, and I'm really intrigued to see what the sequel may bring. My final message? We love you Nash Grenich!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
If you like RPGmaker games, or Undertale, you'll probably like this. It's a pretty good RPG. You could probably get it finished in about two sittings. It has good spritework and music, and it's definitely pretty interesting to think about its story. I do enjoy the cast of characters. You can tell a lot of love and care went into this game, and I hope this game can inspire people. That's what I gathered from it, anyways. Give it a chance, try to meet it where it's at.
I had so much fun! I'm not so great at writing reviews, but I felt this game deserved a good one. I played it during a time where I felt very hopeless, fittingly enough, and it gave me something to look forward to! DashBored isn't a very long game. You could reasonably complete it in four hours, maybe ten if you wanted to get all the achievements! It manages to stay interesting throughout. Everything the player has to do is exciting, or kind of weird, or scary! There was never a point in the story where I thought 'ohh, so we're doing this now? okay...'. The locations are fun, the story is definitely memorable and worth experiencing, and most of all the characters are SO fun. I don't usually enjoy story games with lots of dialogue, but I sat through ALL of it in this one because I wanted to hear what the characters had to say! I don't have very many critiques. The game has its fair share of missable content, which I personally dislike in RPGs like this as it can feel slow to play through again to see the things you missed, but that's just my opinion and most RPGs have that! The combat was also very easy. I found that as I went to side areas and levelled up, I quickly outleveled the main bosses, and I never *really* struggled to get through an encounter. That being said, the combat was decently fun and I especially enjoyed getting to make a party out of the characters I found! If you are into games that combine comedy, angst and horror, I would 100% reccommend you try this game! (also to the creator PLEASE get Milly merch out into the world, I would pay so much money to have her on a sweater you wouldn't believe) -Milly's #1 fan, Marigold
I wanted to like this game more then i did, and i dont think its bad at all especially for an RPGMaker turn based combat game, i like it a lot more then most of its kind. The writing is a little sloppy and all over the place sometimes but excusable mostly, its got some funny dialogue and kept me semi interested all the way through i think the best part of the game is def the characters and the interactions they have. most of the Characters are quite likeable and written well. The game is good for what it is aside from a few gripes i have, i loved Isaac he was easily my favorite character so it kind of sucks to see him not get much story involvement aside from just being there also some characters just seem like party fillers and not real characters Lord Occidere being a prime example getting maybe 3 or 4 lines of dialogue after he gets introduced which sucks as i loved him, it feels like some characters get shoved to the side to tell the storys of others. another gripe is the level design isn't the greatest in a lot of places some areas are kind of a slog to get through the main one coming to mind being the village and old village, Its not all bad though i think some areas are quite well designed i was a big fan of the snowy temple and tv land the temple felt good figuring out the puzzles and the tv land was fun with the gameshow gimmick. Overall 6.5/10, i think its worth picking up, its not exceptional but its a good game and since its such a low price your not risking much, you'll like it if your a fan of karbonics / fading clubs other games or an RPGMaker game fan. (also i think the game is worth playing just to get context for its prequel Nashbored which i think is a great game and really stands out from other RPGMaker games for me)
