An amazing game that really scratches that gritty dark fantasy RPG itch. Challenging but very rewarding with more experience, it encourages moving past the instant satisfaction mindset and shifts your thinking into long term net-profit gain. You are not the grand hero slaying monsters with your holy sword, you're the one keeping the operation profitable, life is as important as the income it brings in.

A lot of people believe this game to be impossible to complete. Indeed there is only a less than 5% completion rate if the global achievements screen is to be believed. I was one of those people until I watched a few videos that changed my perspective. These videos were not tutorials but rather an exploration of the theme and how the game changes you as the player the longer you play it. The winning attitude for this title is that your heroes are a means to an end. They are only as valuable as the money and trinkets you have invested in them. They are meant to be expended in order to further the game. This doesn't mean to waste them, but rather to understand when they die and a party gets wiped, that isn't the end to the run. The real run progression lies elsewhere. This game changes you as someone who values human life, even that of the npcs, to a manager of a dangerous venture. Everything and everyone slowly becomes a name or a number. The game molds you into the likeness of the estates original proprietor, your ancestor. Someone who would pay humans to break themselves whether willing or unwilling so that you can further your own goals. The true progression in this game is the collection of money, trinkets, and upgrades. The buildings you build in the hamlet are the proof of your advancement, not necessarily the levels on the heroes. The bottom-line is you concern, is it possible to complete the run so that you get return on investment? Or do you have to cut your losses? Not to only preserve the lives of your party but more importantly the money you put into their skills in equipment. Losses can be absorbed, money recovered, and the heroes never stop showing up. Progress is backtracked only in the loss of money and having to fill a hero slot with some fresh face unaccustomed to the bleak and hopeless trek this whole ordeal is. Prose aside, this game is a lot of fun and it is stressful. But you don't have to worry about losing the game if your party gets wiped. Yeah it sucks, but the trinkets can be recovered, and money can be made with using a lower tier party with good equipment trekking through lower tier dungeons specifically to make money. The upgrades made to your hamlet cannot be lost (for the most part there is one quest that can trigger it, even then I don't believe it knocks you down to zero). So as long as you are pulling in money, trinkets and leveling heroes passively by going on runs you'll do fine. Deaths happen, losses happen, don't spend money to make everyone's negative quirks go away, they will keep spawning, use it only to get rid of the ones that are too debilitating. As of writing I haven't yet beat the game, however I do not forsee me stopping now, I understand the game now and have killed around a dozen bosses. I am sure this game will get even harder and I will need to tighten down my strategy further but I have never been shy about the retreat button. The chances of victory are a dice roll and our situation is bleak. I hope to edit this once I do beat it, but don't be afraid of the darkest dungeon. "Many fall in the face of chaos, but not this one. Not today."
도전 과제에서 PVP 요소 좀 빼면 더 좋았을 게임임 하기 싫거든
