Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Latest in each market: best RU #91, worst PL #100 · 2 markets collected
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 7.71/day in the week to Aug 19 → 13.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

New Game Mode - Kingdoms - Now Playable!
“This squalid Kingdom, these corrupted lands, they are yours now, and you are bound to them.”
Kingdoms is an entirely new stand-alone strategic campaign game mode available to play now in Darkest Dungeon II.

Featuring a completely reimagined game structure, Kingdoms is a parallel game experience to the Confessions core game mode. You will be challenged to defend a crumbling realm against incursion from all new enemy factions.
Manage a persistent roster of heroes, gather resources, and pursue an epic questline in order to track down and defeat the source of evil before all is lost.

Progress in each game mode is tracked separately, and you can freely switch back and forth between active sessions of either.
Kingdoms is being released in thematic modules, each focusing on a different enemy threat. All three adventure modules - “Hunger of the Beast Clan”, “Secrets of the Coven”, and “Curse of the Court”- are available now!

Gather your courage and ride out into the chaos of a world undone.
Four heroes and a stagecoach are all that stand between darkness and salvation.

Ngl its just not Darkest Dungeon Not ahving your characters carrying over between each game, makes it so idgaf about loosing some1 and removes a big part of the game's tension. I guess if anything the combat feels better

If you were a fan of the first game, don't buy this one. All the returning systems from the first one have been made more tedious.
The game is better than the first one at a mechanical level, but it is harder and more of a roguelike than a roguelite dungeon crawler. Very good thing for me, clearly not a good thing for some other people.
They completely changed the core system (while not always a bad thing i do not enjoy the changes so this is a little bit more of a nitpick) of just how going to missions and in between fights and getting supplies worked, making it harder to clear negative affects cause you just cant buy enough salve or bandages to possibly protect yourself (not cause of lack of coin theres just only ever like 2) all of the healing you could do has been neutered so that DOT you cant really cleanse easily anymore is even MORE punishing the stress mechanic just straight up became stupider (seriously why bring it down from 200 to 10, it just feels so much worse) for no reason all missions are longer now but seemingly without camping kits so you cant even properly restore your party if you get into a dire situation (theres some regen in between paths but still) abilities are obnoxious to unlock, the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ABOMINATION cant turn INTO THE ABOMINATION until a few shrines now, so hes essentially just "the normal dude" until you get those upgrades and you HAVE to be running him to get them meaning you just have bring this bastard with you just to get his core function unlocked They ditched most of the cast and 1 of the ones they brought back isnt even a proper member of the party now (bounty hunter) so if you enjoyed musketeer, arbalest, houndmaster, antiquarian, bounty hunter and hell EVEN CRUSADER, cause even once you buy the PAID DLC you still have to go do some quest to unlock him (i dont mind the fact that its a dlc tbh, i just mind that you still have to unlock him in some whole ass quest) while i will admit the expansion to the animations and characters of the ones they did keep is very cool, they still axed my 2 favorites from DD1 just because? and say you wanna run a specific comp of your favorites? nah, half of them just so happened to roll some horribly crippling permanent debuff so you just cant bring them, while yes this could happen in the first game you could just send them to the sanitarium or wait for another one to pop up with better traits, or even get more than 1 so if one of yours gets a bad trait you can just swap em out but here its run what the game randomly chooses will actually function or get handicapped for funsies the subclasses (or whatever the game calls them i forgot) are a great addition as well tbh but so far so many other changes just feel like they wanted to neuter your ability to have fun i get this game is meant to be difficult but i had alot of fun in the first one and i just feel like alot of the changes in this one hampered the player without giving adequate new tools in return to actually be able to fight against the enemies So overall its not a bad game, but the first is just far more fun IMO and far cheaper too so i dont see the point of getting this one if ya havent already
Honestly a huge downgrade from the original for me. Its infused with too much of the modern roguelike slop that ive come to despise, such as over-focus on metaprogression and slay the spire type maps. Its also far less free than the original, as you start with far options for heroes (4, so every run at the beggining will feature the same characters), and those characters have less skills to mix and match. You can unlock more by spending the metacurrency, but it just feels bad to be so restricted, especially as a first impression.
I keep bouncing off the game and I think I know why: It's just not fun. Of course the art & atmosphere are awesome. Red Hook has a stellar track record in that department. But the gameplay just has continuing underlying issues that frustrate me. It's not worth the continual pain to keep going.
Just sunk 100 hours into DD1 and finished stygian, very excited to try DD2 but this is not it. Feels like a spinoff game that was made for mobile. No dungeons or exploring, instead it's just a stagecoach that goes up on your screen where you swipe left or right to choose which fork in the road to take. Fighting isn't satisfying at the beginning either. Instead of giving detailed descriptions of each skill, we now have a lot of symbols replacing status effects in the descriptions, many old and new. E.g. No longer are we told the accuracy, base effect %, or get Blight for 3 pts/dmg per rd spelled out etc, it's just a green symbol with numbers next to it. Not sure how else to put it, but feels like I'm playing a mobile game that isn't the most terrible thing in the world, but would probably be canned after a year.
