Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Every market we collect.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 7.71/day in the week to Aug 19 → 13.29/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

New Game Mode - Kingdoms - Now Playable!
“This squalid Kingdom, these corrupted lands, they are yours now, and you are bound to them.”
Kingdoms is an entirely new stand-alone strategic campaign game mode available to play now in Darkest Dungeon II.

Featuring a completely reimagined game structure, Kingdoms is a parallel game experience to the Confessions core game mode. You will be challenged to defend a crumbling realm against incursion from all new enemy factions.
Manage a persistent roster of heroes, gather resources, and pursue an epic questline in order to track down and defeat the source of evil before all is lost.

Progress in each game mode is tracked separately, and you can freely switch back and forth between active sessions of either.
Kingdoms is being released in thematic modules, each focusing on a different enemy threat. All three adventure modules - “Hunger of the Beast Clan”, “Secrets of the Coven”, and “Curse of the Court”- are available now!

Gather your courage and ride out into the chaos of a world undone.
Four heroes and a stagecoach are all that stand between darkness and salvation.

Reviews
This game is great, the animations are gorgeous, the combat feels both simplified yet more complex, expanding on its biggest strength. The relationship system feels like a good expansion of party dynamics, adding more of the realism element when it comes to the reality of adventuring. I like how runs are done, riding through the unique zones that ask certain priorities of your team, akin to how the first game made you plan zones with specific resistances in mind. Combat items are great for this, giving you the leg up you'll need to make it through the tougher fights, like antivenom in the tangle. The game has a steep difficulty curve, only yielding as you make meta-progression for things like inn items, looting upgrades, a stronger stagecoach, and abilities and paths for characters. I want to keep talking about paths, as they are an amazing addition to team composition and character flexibility. I can make the man at arms a backlane support instead of a frontline tank if I want, leaving that spot open for another character that might've been overlooked. I haven't even touched the Kingdoms mode yet, and that looks like it will be a blast just like Confessions. The game feels like a strong expansion in all the right areas, even if the game isn't necessarily about a dungeon anymore. Now to talk about why people hate this game. DD2 is not a safe sequel, it fundamentally changes many things that created DD1's identity, such as the hamlet and out of dungeon plannning. But it does hold onto the most important piece of its identity in my opinion, the tenseness of the experience, and making your best shot in a worthless situation. I'm happy the game went in a different direction for the sequel, because DD1 will be there, whenever I want to manage my hamlet and crawl around dungeons with scraps. DD2 is a more streamlined setup personally, and gets you into the goods quickly. I don't feel that way with Slay The Spire, as its sequel overshadows the first, making it feel redundant to play. By branching out and approaching its core with a different angle, it ensures both games are fresh experiences for fans. Most negative reviews I've seen come from people who refused to try and learn the game, rejecting the idea of new like a picky child. If you liked the first game, go into this without bias, you might actually like it. Conclusion: I like this game, and the first game, and I like that they did something different.

Loved the first game, loved this one as well! The token system is much cleaner and compact than the walls of text you did sometimes get with the buffs and debuffs in the first game, character and enemy designs are still amazing, loved the Shrine of Reflection scenes.
