Dark Parables: Curse of Briar Rose Collector's Edition

This is the start of a very great series but later games improve upon the formula a lot. You're much better off starting with Rise of the Snow Queen.

Since I love this game series, I would highly suggest it to other fans of hidden object games. They are a bit dated and aged, but I still find them very engaging and fun.

Loved the challenge, the chapters are short and there is a lack of lore (besides the first cut-scene) but the hidden - find element is well established and well designed. Played it a few times (basic, bonus, and hard) and never got bored. Beautiful music as well, all be it, repetitive.

If you really like puzzle games, this is really fun. The story is interesting and the graphics are really pretty

if you enjoy hidden object games and a dark twist to your fave fairy tales this is the game for you. only thing i wish would be that the hint button can help you find a location if you get stuck and don't know where to go

Mixed feeling on this one. There was a lot of backtracking in the main game, as there was no map. The puzzles were repetitive. The hidden object aspects only featured fragmented objects, so it was hard to find everything. On the plus side, there is a short extra adventure, plus mini game style puzzles after you complete the main game. However, I feel the price does not reflect the quality of the game. Maybe only get it on sale and if you want to play the whole Dark Parable series.

Great game with good art

This is a VERY tentative recommendation. You have to enjoy old HOGs (13+yrs old) in order to enjoy this game. Even then, I would only get it as part of a bundle on a discount. The story itself is decent, and it has walkthrough in-game and on Big Fish Games if you get stuck somewhere.
