What a fun & cheerful co-op game! I appreciate the practice mode because as far as I can tell, you can't die and just lose money when hit. Perfect for playing with little kids!
It´s a good game but it´s a shame that it didnt counts as a perfect game.
Here's what you do:
You start as a bunny and a bird who are in debt. You see a flyer about a rare jewel that is supposed to be on an island and so you go looking for it as a way to pay off your bills. Your primary means of attack is to pick up certain things in each stage to throw at enemies to defeat them (like SNES Goof Troop). You start off with a shovel and get a new tool in each stage (except the final stage). You can play the entire game as one or two players. If one player dies, they can be revived by moving to a new screen. If both players die (you can't leave the room in a boss fight), then you are sent back to the start of the stage and lose half your money, BUT you keep all your keys and tools collected and you can reclaim your lost money in the room where you died. So, it is usually not far to get back to where you were.
What I like:
+ Getting a new tool in each stage is nice. The hammer in particular is useful for breaking rocks in every stage. The shovel is a fun distraction to dig up treasure on every screen. + There is a shop in every stage, where you can use the treasure to buy health upgrades, max 2 :( or refill your health. There is a potion that supposedly refills your health when you die, but we did not notice it working at all after we bought it. + There are additional 'characters' to unlock by finding them in stages, but I don't think there is any gameplay difference between them, just another skin to play as. + The bosses are varied and interesting. I think half of them had you 'refill' your throwable stuff by pressing a button in the room to pop out another object elsewhere in the room.
What I don't like:
- All the achievements are earned by simply beating the game. Technically, there are some achievments you can avoid doing, but by playing the game normally you're likely to get them all. A lack of optional challenges tied to achievements is disappointing. - The cap of only 2 health upgrades was a downer because it left us with nothing to save our money for. And we did die a few times after getting these upgrades too. I don't see why we couldn't be allowed to buy more. We got all three money collecting achievemnts by stage 2. - Some collision detection was suspect as we were hit by a few hazards and fell into a few pits we didn't think were fair. There is a short animation of falling into lava when you do and it sometimes looked like we were in the solid ground when it played.
Conclusion:
I played through this game in 2-player mode with my wife and it was fun. We beat it in 2 1/2 hours. We played on 'normal' but there are other difficulty settings for more casual or difficult play. I like SNES Goof Troop and didn't think there were any other games like it. I'm surprised this came out in 2022 and I didn't find it until 2026!

Melhor Pateta like que você nunca jogou. Um excelente sucessor espiritual de Goof Troop do Snes, que supera o original.
It's a pretty good game! Great for 2 players for Couch Co-op. Very underrated I believe. It's super reminiscent of Goof Troop on the SNES. In fact, it's really exactly like Goof Troop, if you were ever hoping for that spiritual sequel, this is it! And considering the retro graphics and the SNES-style soundtrack, it's probably not a coincidence at all, and I love it. The game is not super long, but it has a decent number of levels, and keeps giving you new equipment for each level. The game is not too difficult and is very forgiving, but there is some challenge. We had a great time with it and there is almost no other game like it. The game can be played alone but I really recommend having a friend. You can also play online if you use it with Steam Remote-Play-Together or with Parsec for example. Played it 2P Co-Op with Parsec, with Xbox 360 controllers. And also played it on the TV with 2 Xbox controllers. I recommend using the D-pad! But the joystick works too. We had zero technical problems and the controls worked flawlessly.
Muito divertido o jogo e lembra muito o jogo do Pateta do SNES. Tem umas piadinhas boas também. A única coisa ruim do jogo é que é bem curtinho.
