(Little Sibling Mode) I have really been enjoying this game, especially using sibling mode with my step daughter. She asks to play it every night! She helps without adding any hindrance from an inexperienced gamer. (Story) The story is very unique and engaging. It doesn't feel like a copy/paste of any other story I've seen. At first glance this could seem like an action packed beat em up, but the story really drives the game home. (Game-play) -Each level has its unique challenges and mechanics but the core fundamental combat system remains consistent. Easy to learn, but there is a high skill ceiling. Speed running could be fun. Some levels remind me of those classic Sega or n64 games I grew up on. Love it! (Replay-ability) Unlocking new weapons and allowing you to go back and use them on old levels is a lot of fun. I found a lot of secrets in my second run of each level that I missed the first time. I want to see how fast I can 100% each level. The Goose Garden reminds me of the CHAOS GARDENS from Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I love raising my goose! I would like to see this expanded on in future updates. Maybe you can change the skin of your goose down the road? Makes playing each level again even more worth it. Also I enjoy fishing, lots of secrets and end game content to explore. (Overall) I would highly recommend this game. You can tell there is a lot of passion behind it. It is fun, with a lot of replayability.
I don't have a ton of time to play games these days, but Weed Wacker Warrior is a great game to pick up and jump into when I do. Its fun, the premise is well thought-out, but funny at the same time. Its a nice escape and change of pace from many other games. I'm glad i picked this up and would recommend it.
Weed Wacker Warrior follows the story of George and Ken, two seemingly ordinary guys doing ordinary work for their local township, but everything changes when the Weeds attack. This game was made by a Solo Developer, it follows the adventures that are crafted around IRL events of the Dev and His best friend while doing actual work for their local township. WWW is a birds-eye view/ 2d/2.5d classic beat'em up style game, make your way through each of the levels completing mundane tasks that you would expect while working a minimum wage job for a local township, all while getting yelled at by your boss. the game is not overly complex, and has good foundational bones to bloom into something much more than what it is, you can see the learning journey the developer has experienced as you progress through the game and get to more intricate levels and mechanics there was also an entirely new level designed and added to the game just for halloween from scratch in just a few days after the idea was conceptualized
I made the soundtrack and I think I did a pretty baller job
Spoiler free section: Weed Wacker Warrior is a fun and interesting concept for a game. It captures the essence of your imagination while cutting grass around your house and turns those ideas into a video game. It has a funny story, good visuals, and an amazing ost. I can imagine myself cutting grass at home while listening to the railroad tracks level theme. There’s a lot of small details I noticed while playing through the game, like dodging reflecting projectiles. It’s very fun to discover small details like that in games. Semi spoiler territory: The gameplay loop is very interesting, blending combat and objective based work. The only level i found it to be a little over encumbering was the river level, where the number of objectives felt high compared to the rest of the levels. After playing the holiday themed levels, it seems like the developer has found their footing on how the levels should play out. It feels much more streamlined. Hopefully if they add any more levels they can follow the same pattern. I especially enjoyed the Halloween level and its eerie atmosphere. Something about the interior of the house is just very unsettling. The mingles are a lot of fun. The goose garden really harkens back to the old chao garden from Sonic Adventure. I’m hoping the developer expands on it in the future some more. In my opinion fishing always makes a game a 10/10 so I greatly enjoy it. It’s fun and simple. Catching all of the different fish does feel a bit tedious but they definitely streamlined it in a recent update. The hats are fun to find and unlock, but sometimes do feel a little random to unlock sometimes. However, the references in them make me chuckle a lot especially when playing with the hats on. ***spoiler*** I love the direction of the story and I feel like there’s so much more at play than has been revealed. I highly suggest you play through the game to 100%. I don’t want to spoil too much but the challenge unlocked for 100%ing is a ton of fun and really really challenging, especially on hard difficulty. Overall weed Wacker Warrior was a really fun little indie game that I highly suggest you give a try. There’s a few quirks here and there but they never really bothered me and it seems like the developer is very attentive to fixes an issues.
This game is truly one of a kind! This game is created so well that you feel truly immersed into the game. I highly recommend playing this and especially checking out the little sibling mode!!
