Dance of Death

Игрушка очень понравилась. Хорошая история, необычные пазлы, непохожие на большинство такого рода игр. На прохождение потратил около 4х часов, не пользуясь подсказками совсем. Игра немного баговала, но не критично и не влияя на прохождение. Не могу рекомендовать к приобретению за полную стоимость, но всем поклонникам жанра по скидке must have.

A very quick game to complete. Some times difficult to figure out where to go next - so using hints there is needed, otherwise it can be frustrating to look for the next area of clues/puzzles. The main reason I go for yes rather than no on the reccomendation, is because the story is pretty interesting. It's corny and cheesy, but a fun quick game if you want something to do for a couple hours only.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Honestly, I look at this hurricane of negative reviews and have no idea why people literally devasted the game. Sure, it is lil dated and not without minor issues here and there. Something like cut endings of few voice lines or tricky navigation. But such low rating? No way. I will not accept this. The game enchants you from the very beginning with it's unique visuals, fascinating music and thrilling atmosphere. Atmosphere here is simply mindblowing. I could literally believe that I was invited to the feast with the Satan. Story here is not that complicated, but with proper presentation it is still rather intriguing. Very good variety of puzzles and mini games. Some of them I've seen the first time. And, overall, puzzles are not that easy. There are few simple ones, but at the same time few of them were rather tricky and it took me some time to find right solution. But in the end - that was good entertainment. Side note. Still got no idea why such low rating. Yeah, I didn't play hundreds of HOGs, but more than few dozens - that's for sure. And most of them from Artifex Mundi. So I've got something to compare. And I must admit that this old game still managed to impress.

This game has a Shadow Shelter feel to it. There is so much detail in the artwork. The HOS are packed with a variety of interactive objects, morphing and animated objects. There are live actors. The game play is logical and flows well. You can use the help feature if you're note sure where to go next. You have an inventory. The journal helps explain the direction of the story. My one wish would be a map for fast travel and that would show where you have an activity. Take your time and search each location well because they are full of things you need to pick up or puzzles you'll come back and solve later.

It's a passable diversion, but as far as HOGs go, this is one of the worst "not bad" ones I've played. It's technically competent, with no crashes or bugs to speak of. The music is mostly a very simple arrangement of danse macabre with some other incidentals. A couple of the puzzles are incredibly obtuse (make portraits of famous people, some of whom you've heard of but none well known enough anymore to be recognizable, also some poorly translated or archaic words) and a pair of puzzles that are exercises in tedium that make the "skip puzzle" button almost mandatory. It's not a total waste of time, but I'd encourage people to seek out other HOGs first.
