Wow. Big game. Big recommend. With the DLC especially. Trying to put this all in paragraph form is daunting so I'll just do good/could use improvement the good: (these are understated here, the good is really good) - environment and worldbuilding are really great, you really feel the city. Like really, just driving around is awesome. The radio stations add a lot to that. - really excellent story, both main game and DLC. I could say a lot here, but it's a really great story that fits in the world. So many cool concepts are introduced. The bleak corporate world reminded me of the frog in a boiling pot, where today these changes would be crazy, but because these people have lived with them gradually changing they are acclimated to this inhumane existence. -Combat and variety of playstyle. I switched my playstyle 2/3rds of the through and it was much different, there are more paths I could have taken too. Combat is really fun, especially hand to hand -Phantom liberty! Phantom liberty! Phantom liberty! -Clothing customization. I spent sooo much time on the wardrobe section. Really cool touch. -
"The Hunt" mission in the base game was just, wow.
- Not with the game, but the anime is great also could be improved: (Although these things exist which I thought could definitely be improved, this is still a strong recommendation. I tend to think of "the bad stuff" too much in a game, but the good aspects absolutely make up for it) -Mission system and how it works with the main story. This is my main gripe.
The amount of side content in the game is Huge Huge Huge and the main content is super high quality but the ratio of main/side content is quite unbalanced. The way the story is set up, it seems unrealistic that you would do the side content, like you need to pause the motivations of the characters just so you can see what else there is. That could have been worked around somehow in production. I ended up playing like almost everything for my completionist itch but now... I feel it wasn't worth all that time. Some of the time for sure, not all. I think the game could have been restructured for more main missions and less side missions.
- Mission System and Timing.
Missions were time sensitive in writing only, not in practice. Kinda messed with immersion a bit. This kinda goes with the last point. especially in the beginning, you are overwhelmed.
- Nothing wrong with V's character, but I sort of had an internal story for my V as I played which more of less fit the game, but it would have been cool if V was more malleable as a person based on choices you make. These choices would affect yourself and how others see you
this is definitely the case with johnny, some relationships, and the endings, but i'd like it to be more broad
- Street cred system.
Cool that it exists, but lacking. Street cred really barely affects the way the world sees you, and is ignored story wise in many areas. The only thing it does is unlock a few new missions I think as well as vendor discounts? That's it? After all I've done?
- General immersion. The environment/city immersion makes up for this, but still.
Why can't I sit at a bar somewhere and order something? Why can't I have new conversation with someone which is updated as the story goes (this is kinda there but..)? Why don't I hear police sirens in the distance or nearby, huge city right?
There are lots of small things like this, some of which I added mods to address for my playthrough immersion. -
General game quality peaks at the beginning, you can see how much more interactive the main missions are at the start than the end
- silencers that work like in fiction, would add a lot to stealth combat (Which is already great) - driving controls on keyboard - more variety in story based on the initial path you took -
cool that they had romanceable characters but the selection was meh for me (except maybe judy), there were some other people that I thought would be more interesting as candidates, but alas. From what I hear the actual romantic lives aren't super immersive
- really tiny thing but that one intro cutscene was buggy initially for me and for others as well, t pose moment still, overall, big recommend especially during a big sale

Great game!
pro tip: each time you see an npc with a marker above their head finish em off, its relative 2 the story

game works now
Played it for the second time, this time on PC, and it was fantastic. The game looks and runs incredibly well, and Night City is still one of the most immersive open worlds out there. I highly recommend getting the Phantom Liberty expansion too. It adds an excellent story, memorable characters, and some of the best content in the game.
very fun and a lot of content
