Wonderful game to play with your friend or spouse! Co-Op is really comfy. Never boring thanks to multiple mechanics and fact that every journey is unique cause you always start it with different weapons and abilities. Not extremely hard, but not very easy (played on moderate difficulty) so good for your "not a gamer" girlfriend. Also no character jumping in this game which is awesome! Absolutely gorgeous design and animation! Eyecandy! Nice way to think about nature of cults, societies, difficult choices, common good and common bad.
GOOD GAME
A game overflowing with style. The cutesy aesthetic mixed with brutal Eldritch visuals and themes was super unique and executed masterfully. The OST was iconic, and the overall art direction and sound design were superb. The game was split into two main halves → the cult management side and the action roguelike side. The former had seamless integration of the game’s horror elements, whether with sacrifices, doctrines, rituals, etc. It was simple, but it made up for it with polished and engaging gameplay. However, the roguelike elements were underwhelming. While the combat was polished, it felt fairly generic and lacked the thematic cohesion present in the base-building side. If the visuals interest you, I recommend giving it a try, particularly if you like base-building games.
