About
Do you enjoy chaos? Unreasonable amounts of loot? Killing bosses that are 10 times as big as you?
Welcome to Crystalyn, a bullet-hell looter shooter where getting stupidly powerful is not a bug, it's the whole point.
Upgrade a big skill tree, collect boss drops, and equip gear that turns you into a walking destruction machine.
There is no such thing as too many bullets. I checked.

Drop into maps with increasing difficulty, slaughter everything that moves, grab their loot, and bring it back to the lobby. Upgrade. Equip. Prestige. Go back in. Do it again. The enemies won't get a break, and you won't get bored.
Upgrade the skill tree, buy new weapons, collect better boss drops, use incantations, prestige and earn ultra powerful cards. You are only getting stronger, until the whole screen is covered in bullets.

More difficulty settings, more maps, more chaos. The game does not slow down. Neither should you.

Reviews
Crystalyn is a very early game, but it has so much potential. there is a bit of grind \ learning curve to it in the beginning, but when you get past that, the game opens up to a ton of builds that make you feel unstoppable. It felt so good to take revenge upon all enemies that gave me so much trouble in the early game and crushing them faster and faster made me keep coming back for more, The Artwork is beautiful, The music is poppy. The crunch when enemies die is so satisfying. The developer actually takes feedback, Is incredibly quick to fix bugs when they are reported. and seems genuinely excited about the future of this game. Looking forward to seeing what it becomes!
I picked this one up because I'm a sucker for a purple haired witch...that's literally it. I kept playing it long past the novelty of that tho, because this is actually a pretty good game! It's sorta like...a mashup of twin stick shooter and incremental. That is, the accumulation of meta progression enables you to further optimize the meta progression. In normal terms...it means that even if you're pretty much ass at bullet hell type games, you can enjoy playing this one =) Not to be confused with an idle/clicker type game. This is absolutely an active game, but the progression loop is basically that you upgrade stuff, to allow you to farm resources faster, so you can upgrade more stuff, to farm resources even more faster, to upgrade more stuff, so that you can take on the next difficulty level, so that you can prestige and restart with permanent bonuses that increase the rate at which you can increase resource farming and game progression. That's where I'm getting "incremental" from, not because this bears any other striking resemblance to all those cookie cutter cookie clickers out there. This is not them. This is a bullet hell twin stick shooter featuring a purple haired witch (and two other playable characters too I guess), that also has an upgrade system that is best described as incremental. "Purple haired witch Cookie Clicker?" No. Purple haired witch exponential violence machine =) Or... Make witch go brrr! What I'm not so sure about, is the game describing itself as "looter shooter". You shoot things, yes. And there is loot, yes. Currency from monsters, used for upgrades, and an equippable item from bosses. Each boss has three item types it can drop, it will drop one of them. These come in a variety of rarities. I'm...not super sure I'd lump that mechanic together with say...Borderlands... Don't come into this expecting things to drop tons of procedurally generated gear for you to sift thru. Super cute game, the soundtrack is pretty good too. 12 hours in and I've not yet unlocked everything or done everything. Partly maybe because I'm kinda ass at bullet hell games lol, but also because there really is enough here to engage with over that scale of time. There's a ton of weapons to unlock, and each one feels less like a linear upgrade to any other and much more like a different playstyle that you can specifically build around and play around. Is this gonna be the gaming event of the year for anyone? Unlikely. Gaming event of the month? Eh... Gaming event of the next few days/weeks after you buy it? Possibly! I can however say with absolute confidence, that this is going to be without a doubt, the best indie twin stick/bullet hell/incremental mashup featuring a purple haired witch you have ever played before! Is that maybe a meaninglessly specific category? Maybe, but it still makes this a damn fine game for the price!

First impressions are great! Progression feels good, with meaningful upgrades and unlocks, without being too fast to appreciate the new abilities. Artwork is clean and consistent, with a great soundtrack and fun weapon choices. Worth checking out!
Beat the game as it is so far in early access. Loved it. Has an addicting gameplay loop and a very satisfying feel all around. I've looped many times and had many fun builds. The forest seems a bit harder than the other zones until you get the hang of it. I would love to see more weapons, bosses, and maybe even some more story elements.
Nice and frantic game
A really nice twin stick looter game with a focus on prestiging to get stronger. The loop is pretty addicting and for the price, this game is easily worth trying!
As a player who has beat the Hard difficulty level for each stage, I'm enjoying the game! There's lots of weapon and build variety and the visual and sound effects feel really polished! There's a bit of a learning curve at the beginning, but I found myself getting into the flow after a few upgrades. The boss fights were all unique and felt balanced yet challenging. If you like playing as a purple witch and progressing from bullet hell into bullet heaven, I recommend!
It is a really new take on the Bullet heaven genre, I'm enjoying it a lot
