Very solid indie horror game. Looks great and runs good.
It tries to be Resident Evil but fails in every aspect. 6/10. I don't have a problem with that, if the game has one thing that really stands out, but here they try everything and nothing really works.

The level design is just ok
The puzzles just ok
The story ok
The combat ok
The bosses? annoying
Their one unique mechanic also does not convince me. Using your HP as ammo sounds good on paper but ultimately doesn't work. There is no interesting descision to make because the alternative to not using your gun is to run away or use the boring knife. So you end up using your gun anyways and because the enemies are so slow and you get a lot of HP refills you can completely ignore that you are using your HP to shoot. Not once was I thinking about wether to use a gun or not, I always shot every enemy. I like the cheap price and if you have already played all Resident Evil games, go for it.
this game is like blasphemous and resident evil 7 had a child. the story is fantastic and the atmosphere is great and the combat is very fluid (pun intended) i love how the gun models look and the puzzles can be confusing some times but they are super fun
A solid game with flaws. I'd recommend it to action horror fans, particularly if they liked Resident Evil 4. This one isn't filled with goofy humor, but it sure does feel like RE4 in some respects. Things I liked: - The art direction was really cool. - The storyline was actually more interesting than I expected. I'd actually be interested in a follow-up to this story. - Traversing the map was generally satisfying. There's plenty of opportunities to backtrack and find secret areas as you get more tools, but the backtracking is limited to the area you're in. Once you move to the next area, you won't be able to go back. Backtracking rewards you with weapon and health upgrades, which is helpful...to a point. - The act of shooting was pretty fun, even with limited weapon and enemy variety. Things I was conflicted on: - Traversing the map was satisfying most of the time, but sometimes it was overly convoluted. The map being split up into different elevations made it really hard to read, so I didn't bother to try to find everything. Completionists beware. - Weapon and health upgrades stop mattering after a while because the pistol becomes really strong after some upgrades, and it's so efficient that you really don't need much health. - There were many, many, many puzzles. Way too many puzzles. Some of them were fun, but quite a few were overly complex and just annoying. Keep in mind that I'm not a big fan of puzzles in video games, especially in horror titles, but I'm used to them since walking simulator horror games like to use them to pad out the game length. Some of these puzzles were annoying enough that I just started looking up solutions without even trying. - The game isn't really horror, more like...horror-flavored first person shooter action. That said, that may just be because I'm used to horror games. Your mileage may vary. I didn't really feel tense during any part of this game, but I still had fun. - Performance was generally very polished with good visuals. I did run across a weird bug near the end where the game would just freeze for 10 seconds and then start again, but it only did this in the last couple hours of the game. The game wouldn't crash, but it was definitely annoying. - The unbeatable stalker enemy that's a trope of these types of games was interesting the first few times, but quickly became tedious rather than scary. It also really slowed down the sections where it was present, not really in a good way. Things I disliked: - While the developers did try to mix up the enemy encounters by adding one new enemy type and new environmental challenges for each new zone, the base enemy that you kill by the hundreds by the end of the game is still essentially the same enemy you faced at the start of the game. I wish there was more enemy variety, especially since I think the developer's art style was really cool and they probably had some neat ideas. I'm guessing this was probably a budget limitation. - The puzzles. Yes, I'm mentioning it again here. There's just...so many annoying puzzles. Can we get a skip puzzle button or menu setting? - The developer re-uses a golem boss fight twice (well, technically three times, but the third time isn't really an issue). The boss is also kind of...uninspired. It just charges at you while you shoot at it, but there's no real indicator that the boss is taking damage, so I ended up taking a while to kill it because I expected the boss to become vulnerable if it missed a charge. But no, you're expected to just shoot it until it dies, and that's it. - The pistol is so ridiculously strong after upgrading that you don't really need or want to use anything else other than maybe the shotgun during boss fights. The knife also feels kind of useless, I think I only used it a few times during the entire game. Summary: I wouldn't be interested in playing this game again or being completionist about it, but I had a decent amount of fun all the way to the end without any major hurdles (other than the annoying puzzles). I hope these developers make another game (with fewer puzzles).
