Finally finish the main story after 100+ hours, gotta say this game offers quite a lot. I do think most of it isn't particularly interesting, but what's interesting actually is pretty fun so it evens out for the most part. Overall I disliked the need to finish the main story to access some quests, or that you need to complete some quests to even start others *cough cough* sanctuaries, but overall it's not too bad. I have seen a LOT of complaints about the abyss and uh idk maybe I'm smart or they made it simpler but it really wasnt that difficult, some of them I did need to look online though I'll admit. My only complaint is that this game just kills my pc, I don't even have a bad pc but I still struggle to get 100+ fps with optimized settings and even then the game doesn't even look that good (especially the lighting, dear god it is HIDEOUS) Genuinely one of the middest games I've played overall, quite frankly, but it's still way better than most of the most recent games so it's fine to me.

Every market we collect.
Same day: best KR #2, worst PL #22 · 14 markets collected
US · last 30 days
Of the 13 markets with a position on both sides, 12 climbed and 1 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · United States has just 10 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 1,765 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Einfach Wahnsinn.
Throughout the 500 hours spent in this game it became my favorite game ever. The world design, music, npcs, economy, animations, the tactile way how gathering resources or solving puzzles works, exploration etc. all work together to make this game incredibly immersive. It would take hours to describe the depth of the combat system and all the things you can do and discover in a way that does it justice. However I want to address the story and controls because the game gets massive amounts of slander for those which is very unjustified in my opinion and finally talk about some things I don't like that much. As for the controls many people really exaggerate their dislike for them because everything has to be sensational nowadays instead of just spending some time learning them. Something that is unconventional or complex quickly becomes "the worst thing ever". The controls are not the easiest to learn but considering how the devs managed to put this huge amount of inputs on one controller you can only come to the conclusion that they did a very good job. Once you learn them they are locked in your brain, even after I haven't played this game for several weeks I can pick up the controller, start the game and after a few minutes I don't even think about the controls anymore but play and enjoy the game. Most survival games, other complex games like poe2 or even the recently released gothic 1 remake have much worse controller controls compared to Crimson Desert. Regarding the story it is the most misunderstood part of the game. The consensus among players is that its bad but that can't be further from the truth. The Story that is already in the game is actually extremely good and mind blowing. The real bad part concerning the story is the way it is presented. The writing is not bad and there are really good motion captured cutscenes in quests and some of the best fight cutscenes between story boss phases and at the end of boss fights but overall the story is way to vague for its own good. Some crucial story details get revealed during boss fights and are easy to overhear in the heat of battle and the most important reveals that make the story exceptional are extremely well hidden and judging by achievements only less than 2% of players have seen what the story is truly about and really has to offer. If the story that is already in the game would have been told in a more accessible way the story would without a doubt be admired as one of the best in gaming. It is still very rewarding to uncover though and if you don't care about spoilers and don't want to spend so much time finding it, I can recommend watching "Crimson Desert’s Story Actually Makes Perfect Sense - Here’s How…" by Sam Bram or "Crimson Desert's story is NOT what you think: Hidden secrets explained [SPOILERS]" by loxian42 on Youtube. The game is still not without other flaws. For me the biggest issues are the lighting, over sharpening, eye adaption and color grading. The grass, reflections and lighting in low light environments can look downright ugly and I never equipped reflective metal armors because they look like a blurry mess instead of metal. Vegetation also looks mostly flat because there is no proper ambient occlusion. You can make it look way better with Ray Regeneration/Reconstruction but it's not a solution for the majority of people considering the massive performance cost and that only the newest amd gpus have that feature. Luckily modders created RenoDX for Crimson Desert which improves the above mentioned aspects a lot and Pearl Abyss should really import it as a game update with further improvements to the visuals. Another downside for me was during combat and in bigger fights especially. First there are way too many ranged enemies, sometimes by the time I dealt with all the ranged enemies, to not get constantly staggered from musketeers, 3/4 of the location was liberated leaving only little room for real melee combat. Secondly enemies like the black bears also have really annoying claw attack that they can spam and easily stagger the player. There are also a bunch of other enemy attacks that feel spammy and can stagger. I think the flow of combat would be improved massively by reducing the amount of those attacks and adding a warning indicator before enemies start them for those attacks. Lastly another somewhat big problem for me is that the three playable characters have a shared Abyss Artifact pool. After all this playtime I unlocked all skills for the characters without spending any Abyss Artifacts on gear upgrades and I only have 24 Abyss Artifacts left which is only barely enough to probably upgrade two weapons to lvl 10. Please separate them or replace Abyss Artifacts with some other rare resource for weapon upgrades. Some smaller complaints I have are the hot and cold effects on the border of the screen when in the desert or the snow, the camera that constantly changes fov and zooms in and out during movement, the small inventory stack sizes and the healing system with food. It can become a bit grindy collecting resources to craft high tier food and it clutters the inventory due to the high amount of different healing foods. Despite the flaws I still see it as an incredible game. In the past months since release there has been major updates almost every week fixing bugs or complaints and adding new features to the game, my favorites being the hard difficulty and extra armors. I have never seen such great post launch support for a single player game and an expansion has also been announced which I'm really excited about. For the future of this game I hope that the story update will do enough to shine light on the amazing story for more players and that Pearl Abyss decides to add mod support which could easily make this game reach the success of Skyrim.
amazing game i still got so much to do
This game gives you basically no hints at all. It’s a complete piece of crap. Definitely not worth buying at full price — it’s only worth half that, at best.
