After a quick 25-year trial period, stretching across CRT monitors, HL1 Beta 5.2, de_dust2, 1.6, Source, CS:GO, and now CS2, I finally feel qualified to leave a review. Here is a breakdown of what you can expect from this brief, quarter-century indie experience: Gameplay: 10/10. Highly tactical. You spend 40 seconds slowly holding an angle with pixel-perfect precision, only to be instantaneously vaporized by a 14-year-old running sideways while firing an AK-47, who then types "?" in chat. Audio Design: Immersion at its peak. You will develop mild tinnitus from flashbangs, but you will successfully hear an enemy drop a weapon three maps over. Economy System: Teaches fundamental financial literacy. Specifically, how to manage virtual cases and keys while explaining to your spouse why a digital butter knife with a rainbow gradient costs more than a 2012 Honda Civic. Community: Inspiringly diverse. You will routinely team up with four screaming teenagers who do not speak your language, yet somehow possess an extraordinary depth of knowledge regarding your mother's private life. Verdict: It is okay. Still testing out the mechanics, but I think it has potential. Will update after the next quarter-century.
