I can't believe I'm saying this, but the title of best procedural FPS has just shifted in my mind. Cosmic Call does almost everything right, and its few blunders are comparatively minute. Starting with the good, I love how creative and unafraid of paradigm shifts the game is. Where many releases are inundated with "+5% reload speed" and such, Cosmic Call dares you to build around absolutely wild sidegrades. For example, there's an item that makes you significantly more powerful, but makes the level progression entirely random to the point that you can spawn into the death screen and take a portal from there. There is also a strong focus on movement and it's clear that the developer understands what practically matters in a game like this. To demonstrate with another item, the ice skates grant you contact damage with enemies but make your movement slippery. Not every choice is this extreme, but the fact that they fairly often are is exhilirating. You truly never know where the game might take you next, especially with the level variety on display. Just when I thought I was familiar with the early sections of the game and had to push through them monotonously, I found the portals changing target locations entirely, sometimes leaving me completely astounded. I won't talk about the levels themselves as discovery is half the fun, but know that they are each incredibly unique. Cosmic Call's weapon selection has also impressed me greatly. Aside from a redundant shotgun or two, no two weapons feel particularly alike, and all are fun to use. They also venture well beyond classic ideas for video game arsenals, perhaps best demonstrated by the mound of flesh you wield and caress in exchange for its ability to damage enemies by looking at them. The sounds are very nice as well, although there was a laser pistol I found rather grating. I'm still finding new weapons very often, so there's certainly no quantity issue here either. Now, I'm not one to write in-depth about music (mostly due to a lack of technical knowledge), but the soundtrack is *banging*. By this I mean to say it makes me feel like doing three consecutive back-flips over the tops of monkey bars. My only real problem with the game is its underwhelming settings menu. The FOV slider only goes to 100, the graphics settings are quite limited, and so on. However, that is far from a deal-breaker for such an amazing title. I'd also like to note that there is only very minimal meta-progression (as far as I've seen), limited to unlockable mutators which are all mutually exclusive. I'm quite fond of this choice as I hate feeling like my runs are just grinding towards some permanent stat upgrades. All things considered, this is a great game and $10 is a more than reasonable asking price.

很有自己想法的肉鸽,就是有时候死得莫名其妙的,不是很玩得明白,开局不给枪感觉半条命可以入土了,,,
Straight up one of the funnest Boomer-shooter games I've played and there a lot of pretty amazing ones, this one in my opinion deserves to stand beside the greats, and deserves way more recognition for how much it offers. Hours upon hours of fun, I don't even have a full hour of game time while writing this review but from what I have played I know that I will be coming back to this game. Not many game are re-playable to me but so finding ones that are, is genuinely awesome. So yeah this is top 5 indie games for me.
A ruthlessly fun Roguelike Boomer Shooter that scratches a specific itch I had for first-person chaos. It takes a bit of time to get acclimated to everything going on, but once you hit that breaking point, it becomes incredibly enjoyable. Tons of different weapons and modifiers as well, with very unique upsides and downsides (such as having your character deal more damage, but you always move in a fixed direction). The weapons are also varied and enjoyable, with them ranging from an explosive shotgun, hands that shoot lightning, multiple head-type weapons, and of course, a rock. Levels can seem daunting at first, especially with enemies that shoot high-damage lasers with little or no indication, but once you learn which enemies to prioritize, you can spend your time destroying the rest. These levels can also become a playground for you once you use the momentum of your weapons to blast you through the air, shooting yourself from one corner to the next. Overall, this game was something that I've been loving as a high-adrenaline shooter with loads of challenge and reward. Lots of fun.
I love shrooms <3
ok, at first I wrote a review that was going to say it's ok, but after playing for a while longer, OMFG, how is this giving binding of issac a run for its money, in fact, its better. For the price, this game is a STEAL. Immensly satisfying to realize you can wear af many pairs of boots as you find, giving my crab champion broke build vibes. Right now im wearing 5 boots each giving its own buff, one alters the physics of the floor and graviry, making your shoots launch you backwards HAHA so much fun when you pair with fire boots leaving a trail of fire in your wake. Will update as I play more. Also, how did they get the ability to use prodigy in the sound track, thats wild. Fat of the land comes on and I'm like wtf? EPIC its one of those, just one more runs, that turns into HOURS. Really really could use red outlines on the enemies since they often match the color pallet of the room, but then again, those shadow rooms with literal shadows, as enemies that are almost inviisble are really scary, but when I got into the MANIQUIN ROOM, I WAS LIKE OMFG, this is pure terror back rooms sh1t. Only jank I felt the needs a lil update with is, rooms are kinda blocky, no secrets, could use some different blueprints, maybe not just squares, and some ramps and height variations. BIGGEST GRIPE IS PORTALS are a pain in the ass when you dont want to use them, you have to avoid them when they trigger such a large area. falling into them unintentionally always sucks leaving items behind. also when your fighting its just a distraction and obstacle. Spawning into rooms is unfortunate somtimes you will land right on a boss enemy and insta die. rng in that regards isnt the best. or spawn in and they are all grouped right in your face. Rng for scaling could use some work, somtimes your thrown a gaurdian level or mini boss when your just starting. Man, the VARIETY IN THIS IS INSANE, for the enimiy types, guns, items. I don't even know how deep it goes because there no item list or gun list or anything, making it a mystery, and I love it. The meta is deffinaly not meele. Too many ranged enemies and flying dudes you can't reach. Extend the range and it would be better. Theres trap rooms, enviromental hazzards as well, spawning into your first poison gas cloud room will have you wondering what the hell is going on haha. Scrap, mostly, and flowers are too hard to see on the ground amongst all the dead bodies. Somtimes a dude won't fullyexplode all thier items onto the ground but they are laying there dead. This is because theres a green enemy that if you explode, more dudes come out of him, so you can choose to fully kill or wait, or leave it alone. The final boss is way too stong, dude nukes you from anywhere on the map, and constantly teleports behind and above you. Game is hard as nails. So far funniest guns, WRIST BREAKER(best gun in the game) over powered microwave demon core black hole book So far fave items jet pack with endless fuel ice skates fire boots explosive boots Just got to a new area, the dark zone, its sooooooooo hard, its a floating island and if you fall off your dead instantly. by the time I got there my movment was too fast to stay on the platform, and you eed to be fast to beat the last boss because it teleports on top of you and follows you with an explosive beam.....its brutal, so you need the speed to beat him, but its a double edged sword. also, MELEE BLOWS, ALL OF THEM SUCK
descend into a hellscape and show those monsters that theyre trapped in there with you. Great soundtrack, Awesome weapon selection with the classics like a tommy gun, double barrel shotty, spas 12, a rock, minigun etc to unique and hilarious stuff like a usable Demon Core, Broadsider(give these fools a volley), severed dragon head flame thrower, flesh, a book that spawns black holes and alot more I wont spoil.
