Your first day as a Battle Researcher for Lux Solis should've been straightforward, receive your first Coromon and begin investigating Velua’s six Titans. But when outsiders wielding an element unknown to science attack a laboratory, your assignment becomes something far more dangerous.
Travel through six distinct biomes, each with its own challenges and mysteries. Begin among the fields around Hayville, then journey to a thunderous city, through a haunted swamp, into a guarded desert palace, beneath a volcano, and across frozen mountains toward ancient ruins.
Between your main objectives, meet the people who call Velua home, help solve their problems, and leave the path for side quests, secrets, and minigames. Upgrade your Gauntlet to open blocked routes and reveal hidden items, then take to the water as even more of the world opens around you.
More than raw power! Build your Squad around Skills, Traits, and held items. Then adapt to entry hazards, weather, and status effects to outsmart any opponent you meet, whether it's a wild Coromon, rival Battle Researchers, or a mighty Titan.
Master a stamina-based battle system where every Skill costs energy. Spend too much and your Coromon will need to rest, giving its opponent an opening.
Hunt for rare Potent and Perfect Coromon. Their distinctive colors make them stand out, and they can earn additional bonus stat points which you can distribute yourself.
Evolve a Coromon for higher base stats, or keep it unevolved and enhance its Trait with additional or stronger effects.
As you track down each Titan, the scope of your mission grows. Every region brings a new crisis, an unexpected discovery, and another clue to the outsiders’ plans. Cross paths with new allies, survive dangerous expeditions, and venture into places no Battle Researcher was ever meant to reach.
As the pieces connect, you uncover a power capable of changing Velua’s natural order. And by the end of your journey, only one question matters: who, or what, is really in control?

Create the Battle Researcher you want to be with a wide selection of outfits, hairstyles, facial hair, headgear and colors.
Give your Coromon new looks with unlockable Skins earned through collecting, battles, side quests, minigames and other gameplay challenges.
Continue beyond the story in the endless Battle Dome, where Coromon Rush, Trainer Rush and Titan Rush challenge you to see how far your squad can go. Test your strategies against other players in ranked, casual or custom 3v3 and 6v6 battles.

It does not happen often to me that I open a game after a while and just close my eyes and daydream a bit while listening to the OST of main menu. Actually.. it NEVER happened to me before. If you are looking in the reviews wondering whether or not to get the game... just go for it. If you are at least a little bit interested in Creature Collector games, JRPGs or even just love a good story or well-driven art style. Coromon is a MUST have. A huge map with a sidequest on every corner, great replayability of the main story whether you just want to train cute monsters into macho beasts or even if you enjoy a challenge and want each Coromon to only have one life, Coromon has it all. As I stated before, music INSTANTLY pulls you into the world. And even after you finish the story? THERE IS MULTIPLAYER PVP AVAILABLE. UNLOCKABLE CUSTOMIZATION FOR YOU AND YOUR COROMON. Or just plunge yourself into an easily setup-able Nuzlocke! There is not a single bad thing about this game. I love it and you will too.

The world of Velua is currently being threatened by six massive Titans who are basically the heavyweight champions of nature. You play as a fresh recruit for Lux Solis which is a high tech research organization that apparently thinks the best way to save the planet is to send a teenager out with a handful of digital spinning tops. It is a modern love letter to the monster catching genre that takes the classic pixel art aesthetic and gives it a massive infusion of quality of life features that make the old school grind feel like a distant memory. The combat revolves around a stamina system that forces you to think like a strategist instead of just spamming your strongest move until everything in front of you is unconscious. Every creature has unique traits and a massive potential for customization thanks to a three tiered potential system that determines how rare and powerful your team can become. I found the puzzle solving to be surprisingly engaging as the game frequently challenges you to use your brain for things other than elemental weaknesses like navigating laser grids or manipulating the environment to uncover hidden loot. The visuals are a vibrant explosion of color with some of the most detailed battle animations ever seen in a 2D RPG of this style. There is a deep sense of personality in every Coromon from the tiny electric squirrels to the hulking ice golems and the game even lets you customize the difficulty to a ridiculous degree. Whether you want a relaxing journey or a punishing permadeath run where every loss feels like a heartbreak the choice is entirely yours. It is a refreshing take on a familiar formula that proves there is still plenty of life left in the world of pocket sized monsters. 8.5 out of 10. It is a charming and polished experience that respects your time while offering enough depth to satisfy the most hardcore competitive trainers. It is the perfect choice for anyone who misses the golden era of monster battling but wants a game that actually functions like it was built in the twenty-first century. Check the potential of every catch and stock up on stamina cakes and remember: even a tiny bee can take down a titan if you train it with enough spite.
