About

Utilize paint-based mechanics to experience a constant state of flow—dive into the ground and walls, slice through the air and enemies!
Become stronger by unlocking new techniques with your brush that aid you in defeating threatening foes, overcoming platform challenges, solving complex puzzles, and advancing your progress.
Explore Constance's non-linear interconnected world and discover countless secrets, abilities, upgrades, characters, side quests, and inspiring moments.
Using your brush techniques will corrupt your Paint. If you become fully corrupted, negative effects await you, so be wary!
Use inspirations that you find on your travels to sketch in your journal. Your sketches enhance and customize Constance's capabilities. By gathering materials, you can upgrade your sketches into even stronger artworks.
Upon death, choose how to continue your journey. Do you want to persevere through the challenge, at a price? Or do you return to a safe point and explore other unbeaten paths?
The inner world is strongly connected to Constance's mental health journey, with each colorful biome and its unique set of enemies and characters representing different aspects of her psyche and personal history.
Experience playable flashbacks about personal struggle, creativity, work-life-balance, and inner purpose. Step into Constance's socks to uncover her past!

Constance is a short, but very sweet metroidvania: - The art style is very neat, although i wouldn't say I fell in love with it, it still is very pleasing and well done - The gameplay is actually fairly polished, i think it could still use some improvements here and there, but after some getting used to I found it pretty good, (although I think it could have a better healing system), you find some nice abilities, however I'm not sure how to feel on the paint meter, kinda like a stamina bar that deals damage if you use an ability once it's depleted, on one side it makes using them a bit more strategic, but on the other it kinda feels like it's limiting you, so I'm a bit split on it's inclusion, also some of the platforming section I feel like ask a bit too much some of the time, they're generally not too bad, but some of the rooms really pissed me off personally - The world is actually very well designed, it took me a while to realize, but you can really go pretty much which way you want to progress, it's very good and full of nice secrets and oddities, although I personally feel like the map was a bit confusing, I don't know if it's the actual map itself or some of the rooms not really standing out, but I couldn't really navigate it without checking the map constantly, but it's not too bad and it also has some very neat features for people who wanna check every nook and cranny of the worldlike myself - There are a lot of items and upgrades you can find, such as more health and paint, but also a collection of trinckets you can equip that give you some boasts or additional abilities, even though I personally think some of the latter aren't too usefull, but it's definately a fun inclusion nontheless - The story is a bit too vague in my opinion, in the sense that it wasn't really too prevalent most of the time, like there are certain scenes here and there but for the most part I'm kinda just exploring the world for the sake of it in a sense, which isn't bad, but I wished it was more involved in the overall game, but if you don't mind that, then it's really not a problem - The music is good, I wouldn't call it amazing, but there are definately some tracks that stick out here and there, generally pretty solid Overall you should definitely give the game a try, especially if you like metroidvanias, it's not too long as well (it took me around 12/13 hours to beat it 100%), but it does its best with the time it's got, really nice work!
FAIR WARNING, the game is kinda short (took multiple breaks and finished the game for the first time after 6 hours with 70% completion). + GOOD+ The game is cute Bosses are original and really fun. (and there are quite a few of them, despite the short game) Gameplay and controls are great, no frustration at all. Difficulty of the bosses are about the same as hollow knight without the ones from the free dlcs. Correct ammount of platforming, not overwhelming at all. Some platforming can be tricky but nothing too hard either. Great ost. -Bad- Pretty short Difficulty of the game overall is pretty easy, the boss are harder but if you've ever played a metroidvania, you probably won't get much trouble. Story: You get to see two aspects of one story. One is pretty straightforward, the other is... there i guess. I expected either a bit more or a bit less i'm not too sure about that tbh. Final opinion: It's a buy. It's up to you in the end because it may be kinda short. But the quality is clearly there, visually, and gameplaywise. I don't regret paying it full price if you're wondering. But i can understand that some would wait for a discount considering the lenght.
