.
atmosfera absurda
Pretty Cool little game, for the price right now on sale? solid buy. Has it's limitations but overall cant beat the price on sale.
Good first impression. Great atmosphere. Trench survival. Fighting Germans with limited resources , while following a story. Nice little game, for some linear war fun. Runs wel. Maybe a tad early with my review since I did not finish it yet, but doing so due to Steam sale. IMO Worth the 66% off price of 6,79€, specially when you are into WWI Trench warfare stories. Looking forward to continue playing. Note: I would not pay 20 bucks for it. But that is an overall game price issue these days. Prices went up so much. I kind of feel forced to wait until the sales to buy any.
As much as I enjoyed some of the puzzle solving, the game overall was bogged down way too much by an unnecessary amount of backtracking and walking. There was some faster travelling options, but even getting to them is a pain. The visual of the game is good. It feels claustrophobic at times and you have to fight your way out of the trouble. The pictures, the diaries, the surrounding set piece really bring tension to every step you take, You can inhale in all the horror of war. The combat is ok at lower difficulty, but a chore at higher difficulty. I don't like how much I have to run them around the circle just to kill one low level guy. Inventory management is a tad too limiting at high level. I get that it's a hit or miss depending on the person's preference so it's subjective. I heard a lot of people complained about the rat. I personally don't have too much problem with it as the game features an ok amount of fuel to burn the corpse. I played at a lower difficulty so I had some inventory space to spare for this action. The part I dislike the most is the amount of backtracking you have to do. I had to backtrack to the trench in chapter 2 to solve a puzzle in chapter 6. The amount of reward for each action can wildly varies from puzzle-solving piece to just a few cigarette or trivia. On top of that, I walked all the way back to the German trenchline, only to find out that there's no options to walk back from the enemy side to yours. I had to take the Fast Travel option, which made me backtrack even more. And don't get me started at the memory part in between chapters. It just too damn much walking. Like, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I was supposed to fetch the key to the house door in the wood, while that said door has already been previously opened in the previous memory session? What the actual hell?! Overall, there's something to like in this game, from the visual to the puzzles. I just think the design was too clunky and wasted us too much time with the travelling around the map. I don't find it enjoyable when I had to spend more than 70% of the game just to walk from one place to another. If the map is shrunk by 1/3, I would probably recommend it. That said, cheers to my boy Gaston for smoking an untold amount of my cigarette, and be the comic relief in this horrifying world of WW1 :))
