Unremarkable horror game that you’ve played several times before. Anyone who has played horror indie games before will be familiar with the interface. It's used in the majority of low-effort games, and its qualities include a beating heart that indicates health, a diary in the inventory that constantly displays the same objective, a flashlight that requires batteries, etc. The visuals are fine. Everything works nicely because the game isn't particularly demanding. The view resembles an ancient black-and-white camera or a television screen. The settings and gameplay are generic. It takes place in a house with several locked doors. Notes dotted throughout offer small details to the plot. The objective is to explore and trigger spots that activate a jumpscare or an event. These triggers are bad. For instance, when you see a shadow standing around a corner, you can run and see how the boogeyman disappears. Or when you walk through an entrance and see the boogeyman slide across the floor – an event reserved for another spot. Sometimes the triggers are simply late, like in the second part in the underground maze. Despite being generic, these games can still deliver some fun when done right. Unfortunately, the game does not flow well. There are no waypoints or objectives, so you don't know what to do. The first part in the house is a scavenger hunt in which you search for keys but have no idea where to look. As previously stated, the diary displays the same objective "grab the flashlight". To keep with the generic template, the last few stages are chase sequences where you avoid the boogeyman in a dark underground maze. What's worse, you still need to look for keys that can be anywhere.
so let me preface this with playing every horror game out there no matter how big no matter how small. but this game was just so unfinished and felt very rushed (THIS GAME HAS HUGE POTENTIAL) but i felt like it was more focused on figuring out what to do, running in circles to trigger something. which if you have ever played horror before you know that just takes so much away from the immersion. there is not much more I can say besides bad jump scare timing and bad AI. but i may not recommend this in its current state but it deserves a play through
I liked the game. The game has potential, although some will say no, because many newbies are used to being told in games what to do and where to go, especially in horror games, let me tell you I say that I liked the fact that, you have to look for the clues all over the place and they were not handed to you, this makes the game more interesting. Don't be discouraged by the fact that you have "work" looking for clues. Yes, you have to walk around the rooms to trigger certain actions, to solve some puzzles, but this did not bother me at all. There are enough resources (battery for the torch), you just have to find them. I liked the graphics, for a game like this it's ok. What I would have liked is to see how much battery is left in the flashlight without entering the menu by pressing "Tab", but to appear in real time somewhere on the screen. At one point it seems to me that the light of the flashlight is too strong, but that could also have been from the light of my monitor. All in all, the game is worth playing, but you don't have to have high demands and expectations from it. Yes, some retouching had to be done here and there, but overall I liked it. It is up to everyone if they want to buy it and play it. From my point of view, it receives a positive review. I liked it.
The game was fine up until we left the house imo. It could have also used some voice work instead of all of the notes. The game ran fine for me. The puzzles weren't too difficult. It's not bad if ur into the usual Steam horror game affair. Gameplay Impressions: https://youtu.be/iSUJrb6tjic
This game is like my life it's trash.
I'll admit, I got pretty frustrated at a couple of things, and the game isn't the most unique, but it is the type of game I really like. I did enjoy it quite a bit overall. The story was dark. You would think with all the notes, they could have elaborated on it a little more. But I do recommend if you like the run of the mill indie horror game. https://youtu.be/5vxetdQghyE?si=v_W3GJSeqgOw1lgy
One of the worst I've seen.
