Cold Waters

Really one off the best modern Subgames ever release. You're able to run most Submarines from the cold war with mods.

Takes some time to learn and I had to refer to manual (its included in game folder) as well as doing tutorials. Its hard, but if you take time to learn, very enjoyable subsim so far. The 3D visuals are quite pleasing, but most my time has been spent on the 'functional' 2D map. so glad I picked it up in a sale.

Excellent approach to gameplay (split between sim and arcade) and dynamics of submarine warfare. One occasional bug will happen when tankers and tenders get frozen behind enemy lines and do not advance to their expected AO (seen when the friendly satellite passes over it). Otherwise, I have greatly enjoyed all of the features it has offered for each simulated theater of operation, especially the added submarines and expanded theaters (though some theaters could use improvement).

The Base game is excellent, its got that Tom Clancy technothriller vibe and the individual submarine combat is riveting. The game is propelled further with mods, like Dotmod, which adds playable surface vessels and more campaigns. While the surface combat does not come close to seapower, the submarine combat with dotmod is very fun. I recommend getting this one on sale.

A beautifull realistic game that will hold you hours, stressing underwater =)
