I can't express how much I have had no fun during this game and I have no idea how people can like this game through gameplay (yes, I played RE4 OG and loved it, same with classic RE games).
I try to give games always chance, since it is RE clone, I was expecting something good, this was not the case.
The whole game has interesting premise and atmosphere but that’s it. Trought gameplay perspective, I would play any other game than this. If you want more detailed description, look for others "bad" reviews.
Here is my summarization :
-no manual saving in any way, shape or form. You can only "save" via checkpoints, which you do not know where they are, so if you happen to die by something stupid or in room that is giving you problems, well too bad, you are goanna redo the whole "segment" right from the last checkpoint, which can be tens of minutes back (yes, they are not common).
-loot from enemies is randomized, so if you happened to get 5x in row ammo while basically on no health, too bad, die and try RNG again, maybe this time you get 5x healing in row and no ammo.
- tons of damage from enemies, but as I have heard this might be problem with not capped FPS.
- the game has classic RE4 OG over the shoulder perspective while aiming, which is confusing, since while not aiming it has classic camera angels view. Yes, you can also shoot without changing camera to over the shoulder but the game rewards for headshots, so it should be more ammo resourceful going over shoulder, if not for constant movement of crosshair (laser) thx to waves hitting the ship.
-no map... do I need to write anything else since game is on ship with multiple pathways?
Those are my main points of not liking the game. Yes, you may say that this review isn’t proper representation of game, since I played it only for around 1 hour (what steam tells), honestly, this may be the case but it also took some time to even put game to run and accommodate controls (mainly sensitivity) to be somewhat playable (do not alt tab, it will mess your sensitivity, then you will have to restart game to put it back).
I feel that I played it over 3 hours at least through the sheer amount of pain and can't believe that the reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
I may give it chance if there will be some short of remake but as it is, I wouldn’t wish playing this on anyone.
