This game looks like it has a lot of potential, but it's physically hard to play. Everything feels janky and unpolished, the sprites are too big for their actual size, so they look jagged because they've been sized down so much. The art also seems to be AI generated, which makes it look even worse.
kind of hard to see and understand. Deep learning curve because of its hard to look at and digest the Dev choice of menu and layout. It may be easy but the layout is bad. You will find yourself clicking stuff not even understanding what you are doing. You might get it. but most-likely not
I want to like this game, but the big issue is the saved files not remaining when rebooting the game. Loss of progress every time I start up does not motivate me to play since I have to start over each time. And no I don’t force quit. I click the obvious save and exit button. Not recommended in its current state.
TL;DL Go ahead if you have plenty of time. Turn back if you don't. Yes this game has potential. No this game sucks hard. Real hard. Random generated map/ mob with no quest marker. Random soft locked in prison for 5000+ days (With no skip option). Near no tutorial - Feel like playing MC/terraria without a wiki. Also, well it is more like complain then issue, including character move slow + no town portal (At least for early game), very tiny FOV, lack of explanation on stat (and how to power up), sometimes you can't even tell if you are stuck or bugged. IMHO it is the opposite of a fun experience. Update (12Jan2024): This game combine grinding and permanent death, with achievement reward across all global save file. If you would like to learn/ go deep/ look for a game for marathon stream, go for it. If you would want a game for weekend, don't. Failing any quest (Or abandon it) count as a crime, which aggress NPC and make you end up in jail. I wont go into details but the way to get out is insane. And, there are challenge which will permanent delete your character (Well, it has a warning thou). In the bligh side, This game packed with alots of mini game/mechanic which reward in-game currency (More than 5 as I found) . Majority on gambling and stock market. This game has some charm in it, just not my cup of tea. To be fair, I put some games here which are similar, which I suppose they are "good" game, but I just hate. DS2/3 (DS1 is just fine),elden ring, Minecraft, terraria, Noita, ark.
Developerrrr come back. This game has immense potential and I miss it already, but seeing nothing since April I am afraid ;o; ~~~ IM OBSESSED! I've really been having so much fun, all of the interlocking systems are so intriguing and addictive. But, It really takes some trial and error, and I understand what my fellow english speakers mean when they say the translation can be confusing, so I've compiled as best I can a list of what I don't understand: Don't Understand: 1. "lost property". Perhaps this will come up later and I havent gotten there yet, but the lost properties only say to get it to the right person? Is the text supposed to be a clue, and how do I know when I've found this person? Update: I have had someone ask me now for an item, but it isn't one I have. I have over 20 lost properties, not sure if I should be keeping all of them? 2. The rules of some of the pass time games. These could really use a second look. These games are different / not the same game as what they're called sometimes, and what button does what could be much clearer. 3. What some of the quest goals are. It seems to a degree this is intended since there's the tool tip "the employers dont always give the correct info", but for example I was stuck on one that said "gather icecream" for a while. Was I meant to craft it? Buy it? Where does ice cream come from? Was I meant to know? Update: After reviewing the reference, I am still somewhat confused, but I see it's meant to be crafted now. 4. The crafting system is confusing me too. How do I know which ingredients are for cooking, alchemy or crafting? The lorefold doesn't list resin, for example, where do I gather this? Where do I repair equiptment? (The blacksmith, I've learned. Not sure which stones to use.) A directory of which place does what would be cool. Will try to update. Any other english speaking folks, or those willing to speak through translators, hmu, would love to talk about this one!
An utterly addicting intricate and quirky web of trading, fighting, grinding, and gambling systems where the house doesn't always win but does make sure to give you a hell of a time slowly treading through the sticky tar and molasses pit of progression. There are many ways to progress throughout the game and the game makes it a point to tell you this. All the systems sort of tie into each other and it's up to you to figure out how to earn EXP and the two forms of currency as efficiently as possible, as well as finding ways to convert them into each other, keep yourself alive, and generally thrive. You can play the game entirely within the confines of the first city you find and just avail of the services and ways of gambling, trading, quests, parcel delivery, etc or you can go out on adventures where you can fight monsters, watch them fight each other (which actually gives you EXP), explore dungeons, and collect resources all while fighting the darkness of the night and the hoard of ghosts that comes with it. There are many ways to build your character, many ways to tackle the grind, and many ways to break the game. The only issue with this game is that despite the tremendous effort the developer put into giving the player as much information as possible, creating a FAQ in the form of a PDF, an NPC that slowly guides you through all the game's systems through a tutorial quest system, etc... The translation makes this game very hard to learn. With the incredible myriad of things to do and ways to do them, the translation is adequate enough that you could get by but the extra brain-power required to interpret the awkward machine translation, to read and remember fully Chinese NPC names, to understand all the advice and tutorials the game gives you just makes the game impenetrable for many. The game encourages you to explore it and learn things on your own despite its very comprehensive tutorial but it's harder to enjoy this process as an English speaker when the language barrier makes things just that little bit more opaque than they should be. Along with that, the game is missing a lot of quality of life, some of which is an inherent, very intentional part of the design (as an example there is no map to see where things inside a city are but you can ask NPCs where buildings and other NPCs are kinda like in Morrowind and Outcast) and others of which are just flaws. Moving can be incredibly slow, the stamina system makes it even slower, you have to run all around the city to get anything done on top of that, etc... All these things add up to make time management a big part of the gameplay as your character has a limited lifespan and dying from old age and passing stuff on to your next character is part of the game but it can really feel like an enormous slog at times. Overall if you're prone to getting addicted to spending hours grinding in MMOs for incremental gains but you actually enjoy it, you'll probably be in heaven playing this. If not, this game's probably not for you. I hope to see improved translation and better quality of life in the future and considering the developer is very receptive to feedback, this may very well happen eventually. Coin and Wishpalm captures what makes the Chinese indie scene so interesting and endearing yet flawed. Full of ambition, incredibly quirky and charming, lots of breadth as well as depth, but also very, VERY jank. It's reminiscent of wild and wacky world of Slavjank and Eurojank games and I can't get enough of it.
