recording with bandicam in 2021 is CRAZY
Through unbelivable luck, this crown jewel of the gaming industry came into my Steam library. People that are after achievements will love this game. Just opening it will already give you 1/3 of all possible achiements. The immense joy I had during playing this game was passed on to my friends, who were merely listening to me playing. The complex structure of this game enthralled me for over 20 min (22min to be exact) until I finished the game and I was filled with bliss, which will last at least one lifetime. It is very difficult to comprehend the unfathomable greatness of this master piece. But here is what I, a mere mortal bystander in this, the greatest of all times due to this magnum opus, have understood: - You start with a coin that has 50/50. From my scientific observations I've followed that these numbers represent "attack"/"defense". - After selecting three coins (if you only chose so many as two, you are one short. Yet if you might have reached a number of coins wich is equivalent to four, you have overstept the god given number of three. So you shall count to three and not to two except if you will continue counting to three. But stop there and do not continue to count to four.) - When leading these heroic coins into battle, you will encounter foes with higher ranking. Id est maybe 150/150. - With every crossing of their weapons, a coinflip happens (not seen, as this trailer, which makes Hollywood shiver their unworthy legs, shows) and one of the Herculean fighters (coin) will loose defensive points of the value of the antagonists attack points. - When winning a game..., no...., a divine battle, the adversary's coins will be added to your collection. - In the unfaithful event of a loss, the selected coins will be dislodged from the assortment until you retrieve those in another battle. Since I'm getting bored with writing this, here is what happens: - you start with 50/50 (which I guess is attack/devense) - you send them to a "fight" in which they coinflip against other coins - when winning, you win over the other coins and they are added to your collection, when loosing you lose these coins from your collection. - Some of the coins (~7) have a short description, which not necessarily is important to what is on the coin - After winning the highest valued coin (870) which took me about 20 minutes, the game is over since you automatically just win every game If you get this game gifted, think about the more valuable space on your hard drive you will be loosing before installing it. If you think about buying this game, take the money and get drunk. Still a better option.

There is no reason to for this to exist
COINS BATTLE developed and published by Hede is a minimalist strategy game built around an unusual concept: collecting coins and sending them into battle against other coins in order to expand your collection. Rather than presenting a traditional story-driven adventure or a complex tactical system, the game focuses on a straightforward gameplay loop centered on gathering units, choosing which ones to risk in combat, and gradually improving your collection through victory. The result is a lightweight and experimental strategy experience that emphasizes simple mechanics and quick gameplay sessions. The core idea behind the game is surprisingly simple but effective as a casual concept. Players begin with a small group of basic coins that serve as the foundation of their collection. These coins function as the primary combat units, each possessing its own attributes such as power, durability, and rarity. Some coins are stronger or more valuable than others, which makes the decision of which coins to bring into battle an important strategic choice. The objective is to defeat other coins encountered in the game world and claim them as rewards, slowly expanding the player’s collection and gaining access to stronger combat options. Gameplay revolves around selecting coins from your inventory and sending them into battle against opposing coins. These encounters are relatively quick and operate largely through automated combat mechanics. Instead of controlling individual units directly during fights, players rely on the stats and rarity of the coins they choose to determine the outcome of the battle. This system encourages players to carefully consider their lineup before entering combat, as stronger coins can increase the chances of victory but may also be riskier to use. One of the more interesting aspects of the game lies in its risk-and-reward structure. If a player wins a battle, the opposing coins become part of their collection, which gradually increases the strength of their available roster. However, if a player loses a fight, the coins they used in that battle may be permanently lost. Only a small set of starter coins remains safe from this penalty. This mechanic adds a layer of tension to every encounter because players must decide whether to risk their stronger coins in hopes of gaining even better ones. Progression is therefore closely tied to the player’s willingness to take calculated risks. As stronger coins are collected, players can attempt increasingly challenging battles that offer the possibility of even rarer rewards. Over time, the collection grows into a varied set of coins with different values and attributes, allowing players to experiment with different battle strategies and combinations. The structure of the game leans heavily into the idea of collecting and upgrading rather than traditional strategic depth. Discovering new coins and watching the collection grow becomes the primary motivation for continued play. Each successful encounter expands the available options for future battles, which creates a sense of gradual progress even though the underlying mechanics remain relatively simple. Visually, the game adopts a clean and minimal presentation. The coins themselves are the central visual elements, displayed clearly with simple designs that emphasize their differences in value and rarity. The interface focuses on functionality rather than elaborate graphics, making it easy for players to navigate menus, review coin statistics, and select units for combat. This minimalistic visual approach reflects the game’s overall philosophy of keeping the mechanics accessible and easy to understand. The sound design follows a similarly understated approach. Simple sound effects accompany menu interactions and battle outcomes, while basic background music plays during gameplay sessions. The audio does not attempt to create a dramatic atmosphere but instead serves as a subtle accompaniment to the game’s mechanical focus. However, the simplicity that defines COINS BATTLE also leads to several noticeable limitations. Because combat outcomes rely heavily on numerical comparisons between coins, battles can feel repetitive after extended play. There are relatively few gameplay systems beyond collecting and battling, which means the overall experience may feel shallow for players seeking deeper strategy mechanics. Another drawback is the limited variety in gameplay scenarios. Without additional modes, narrative elements, or environmental challenges, the game’s loop remains largely the same throughout the experience. Players continuously collect coins, select units, and battle opponents in a cycle that rarely changes in structure. Despite these shortcomings, the game still offers a certain appeal for players who enjoy experimental indie concepts or casual collection mechanics. The risk-based progression system creates moments of tension when deciding whether to gamble valuable coins in pursuit of stronger ones. For short play sessions, the simple gameplay loop can be entertaining and easy to jump into without requiring significant time investment. Ultimately, COINS BATTLE stands as a small and unconventional indie title that explores the idea of turning collectible coins into combat units. While it lacks the complexity and depth of larger strategy games, its accessible design and risk-reward system provide a modest but interesting gameplay experiment. Players looking for a quick and casual strategy experience may find some enjoyment in its mechanics, even if the limited content prevents it from sustaining long-term engagement. Rating: 6/10
I give a qualified thumbs up. If you can get this game for $0.99 or less, it's worth playing just for the concept. I wouldn't pay more than that. There is no tutorial and no explanation of the rules. I *sort of* get it and it's interesting up to a point.
I give it a qualified thumbs up. If you can snag this game for 1€ or less, it's worth playing just for the concept. I wouldn't recommend paying more than that, though. There's no tutorial or explanation of the rules, so while I *kind of* get it, the lack of guidance makes it a bit confusing. It's interesting for a while, but it has its limits.
