Sadly, it seems this game was pretty much abandoned after just a few tiny "patches". As far as I can tell, no issues that were brought up by other players were resolved despite the numerous promises to do so. Now, I understand that patches take time, but the last "Big Patch" was in June, and nothing substantial was actually fixed during that patch. Since then, its been all quiet. It had promise, it had the groundwork to be decent, but man they dropped the ball and ran. Maybe one day I will have reason to edit this review, but as of now there is very little game play. And that game play is so riddled with bugs that someone should really call an exterminator. Fun for a bit, then unplayable. 2/10
glitchy game. if you mine too far away from the parking area an invisible wall pops up and you cannot bring the equipment back to park. if you leave the mine to sell ore, the workers stop working and will remain unusable for a couple days.
Can't recommend that anyone buys this game, it is buggy and unrefined. I have played since playtest and there have been no updates since a week after the game was released. I have restarted and tried to play through the game several times and haven't been able to reach the end due to bugs, from vehicles getting stuck and unusable to entire sections of my mine being restored to new and not being able to mine it again. Was very excited with the potential of this game but it was abandoned a couple of weeks after launch and wasted.
The demo for this game had more content, get Out Of Ore for a better mining game
First off, a huge thanks to Icebreaker PR for providing me with a copy of the game to review. Except for a steam key for this game, I have not received any remuneration or other “rewards”. After having played for over an hour and encountering multiple crashes throughout the tutorial alone, I can with certainty say that this game is not “fit for public” consumption. The fact alone that you can’t play through the tutorial without having to face crashes at multiple points makes this a non-starter. Some more nit-picky things I noticed along the way; You show me headlights with ambient illumination when I’m in the main menu, when I get into the game and turn on the loader truck, the lights are painted on the truck in an off-white instead of gray-ish when the truck is off, but there is no illumination of the environment at all. Working lights are essential, we are in a mine after all!!! Also, you can implement backwards facing cameras for the loader truck, but you cannot have (functioning) mirrors in the pickup truck? Not to put to fine a point on this, but the game is fully released with multiple patches along the way, and surely we should now be at a point where the game is playable, right? Please don’t misunderstand me, I really wanted to like this game but we are now 5 months down the line, the last patch more than 3 months ago and no seeming updates from the developers. And in conclusion, as much as it pains me to say this, the game is unplayable in its current state. I will be more than happy to look at this review again, should an update be forthcoming in the future, but until then you may want to spend your money somewhere else... (It should be noted that I had no issues with the Prologue of this game, as in I could at least finish the tutorial)
Would I recommend to others...Yes. However, it should be noted that it has got its bugs, somethings don't work how they should, your excavator may end up flying around the place whilst grabbing some coal, your workers won't continue working once you leave the mine. Besides from this it's not a bad game, definitely a boredom killer but can also cause boredom as it is extremely repetitive and not very well instructed once past a certain point.
This game has been out since 2020 and still has issues not addressed. #1 after you get said workers and you leave the mine to go to another one, they stop working and then all your machines are stuck where they was working at. Cannot assign said workers because machines are no longer parked and cannot fire the workers. Fix this game or make it free because it is not worth $15.00. This game is a complete scam and don't waste money buying it. Gold Mining Simulator is way better than this is and well worth the money! DEVs fix your game or don't create a new one plain and simple!
