Horrendous. NOT what the old games were. Don't buy this, not worth it.
great tactic war game.
Love the close combat series. It is long past time that we moved on from the old engine. While TBF isn't perfect, it is a foundation that I think will serve the series well going forward. I wish there was more ability to customize your units and apply captured equipment on an ad hoc basis though. Hope to see more Close Combat in the future.
He jugado muchisimas horas a los CC.
close combat in 3D, recommended
Good game.
I have been long time fan of this franchise, it just has not kept up graphically and units lack any real basic intelligence or understanding of tactics. I had hoped to see a transtion to a WARNO style of game play or Steel divison. Will dust this one off like its predecessors if I am felling nostaligc.
The game engine is nice, but it's annoying when my team can't shoot straight. Having spent time in combat, I can assure you that a high rate of first-shot kills is not only possible, but likely. Stop setting the algos to worst-possible likelihood!
Wow, I don't know how to describe my experience but as... annoying? The game itself seemed to be a kind of 'Combat Mission', wich I like very much... I wanted to give this game here a try, but it doesn't work for me. I see no option to place my troops better than the places the game offers me. If I place or move a squad to cover or a ridge, there are always some of the squad falling behind, so I can't use the full potential of the firepower of this squad. Every game seems to be on luck, where I carefully placed my units doesn't seem to have an effect on the outcome. As soon as I try to move my units, even after decimating the enemy, my men are mown down... This is so annoying and gives me the feeling, that this game just has been released to cash some money. There is potential in the game, but the 10 hours I played it left me with the feeling, that I could have spent my money on something more convincing... Update: Finished the great campaign... after getting my troops to a better level, there was no major threat to them... just placing my arty in the right spots, laying in ambush and directing my mortar-fire on the enemy guns, mgs and platoons made the camapign way to easy... only real threat was a Tiger I (my inf. took that one out with heavy casualties) and a panther (wich I flanked with my shermans and got him from the side). AI seems to be very bad, very repetitive gameplay and tactics. You can't place snipers on high buildings for better view. All in all it has been an annoying experiemce, but I wanted to see, if there is something more demanding is coming up: NOPE! Even the landing beach was a walk in the park with maybe 10 casualties? 2 of them dead? Really? Come on, this should be a slaughter for the USA...
