Close Combat

This game has been on my mind lately and then magically it appears. Thanks for the release. Still a great game one of the best tactics games ever made. If you want a good challenge and still have a great time buy this game now. Its worth every penny. Buy all of them actually its cheap and hours on hours of fun to be had. Go win WW2 soldier.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone who hasn't played it before, but if you have nostalgia for it, this is exactly as it was back in 1996. The max res is 1280×1024, so it runs in a small window. It's awesome that this exists and runs on modern computers.

This is one of my favorite games of all time, from one of my favorite franchises. I still have my original CC1 CD, but I haven't been able to play it in decades due to its 16bit installer. Having this finally ported to steam is a godsend, and the game still holds up. It's not completely bug free though. If you're seeing sudden crashes with no error messages in certain maps, it may be caused by click-dragging the fire or move markers on the map. If you can train yourself out of click-dragging and instead just issue a new fire or move order, you should be able to avoid the crashes. Is it worth the $6 to play this classic? Yes, many times so.

Another game where you have to do everything. A squad leader in 10 squads, and the platoon leader. There is no command hierarchy. I bought the game when it was first published and more recently on Steam because I no longer have a PC with a CD/DVD drive. I also bought all of the other Close Combat games because they were done well, within their limitations that I see.

A realistic combat strategy game where moral force is crucial. At some point, the soldiers will panic, separate, or will just not follow your orders. It's important to think before acting, or you will get crushed. Old but gold. Another gem of my childhood released on Steam :) [i]On your feet soldier![/i]

На вин10 работает нормально. Игра хорошая но совершенно устарела и играть можно только через боль. Еще и нет разрешений . Приходится сидеть с микроскопом.

Bought it just for collecting reasons as it didn't really had much impact in me (I started with CC2) and it's very outdated, even comparing with the 2nd game. Might be because it runs on an older version of the engine, but unlike the rest of the series I cant run this on Linux.
