Th controls are very floaty and the camera is all over the place.
It was fun! Good ol' collect-a-thon platformer, with all the cheesy puns and references you can expect from the genre. The mobility you get in this game is also pretty insane; I had a ton of fun finding my own quirky solutions to platforming challenges, instead of following the intended path. Sure, it's a bit rough around the edges. Janky enemy hit boxes, sometimes animations don't transition right, camera isn't great. But none of these were game-breaking issues for me. On the contrary, I was able to laugh at and with the game whenever these things came up!
Modern take on classic 3D platformers, Really Awesome. All Stages are diverse and interesting.
this game is plagued with animation glitches and other minor bugs, but if you're willing to stick it out until the 2nd level, you'll find a pretty enjoyable collectathon! the cutscenes are very awkwardly paced and the story wasn't very deep, but the gameplay was fun, and thats what matters with a game like this. i will say, i'd recommend picking it up on sale though...
This game is a great 3D Platformer, but it STILL needs some work.
Here we have the perfect example of a game that fails at almost everything that it sets out to be. It wants to be a buddy duo platformer like Banjo or Yooka but fails in the most basic of ways. Jumping, arguably the most important part of the genre, is a struggle at best. Every single items on this game seems to have it's own gravitational pull and not in a good way. It feels like you're in space and the fun wore off a couple of hours ago so now you are horrified as you drift away from what ever you wanted to jump on and into the loving jaws of the floor. On later levels this gets very frustrating. Hitboxes are also atrocious. Hitting an enemy is a gamble and if you consistently hit something, you should run to the nearest gas station and buy a lottery ticket. It's awe full. Now normal enemies aren't too hard to deal with, but where it gets annoying is in bosses. Particularly anything that summons minions during the fight, see voodoo frog boss as an example. Anything with projectiles is a guaranteed hit, though thankfully they seem to drop health as a reward. There's also no indication on if you hit or not. They simply either drop with a goofy early 2000's ragdolls or vanishes into the ether. On a slightly worse note however is the controls. You move like a bunny covered in butter and aren't capable of making sharp turns because of the camera. Camera which has no option to adjust sensitivity, which for people like me it's a big deal. Infact it has very little options as you can't even rebind controls in game. You have to jump through many hoops just to adjust the basics. On a more positive note the level design is somewhat fun. They have that nostalgia of games from the time it's trying to replicate such as swamps, cities, and houses full of toys and junk scattered around that makes you feel like you're in toy story. The character though hideous is decent enough for my daughter to like him. She likes that the bunny is similar to Mr cinnamon (her pet bunny) and the monkey you seem to use as a weapon is fun enough to see flailing about. I could go on and make a detailed thesis about this game but i just wanted a short review. Wish i could give a mixed review because i've liked it so far but it does get draining. TLDR - It's a fun enough game if you can get past the jank but not worth full price. Wait for a sale to pick up or get someone who makes bad financial decisions to buy it for you. Whatever they wanted to do here, they failed in a spectacular show of lack of talent.
control scheme is a little weird but i do enjoy it, need to come back and finish this at some point
Don't really have to much to say since this is a really basic platformer, so basic that there's nothing that sand out about it besides how it badly tells it's story. However, if you can get past the awful storytelling or inconsistent combat and once you get use to the controls the levels are still a lot of fun to explore with little to annoy you unless you're going for all achievements. I mean I enjoyed my time with it. What I'm trying to say is that even you're rated with Bs and Cs, there still passing grades.
Outside of the final boss... Pretty good.
