I went from GameMaker to this, I really recommend this. I was able to make a main menu, office and cameras in under 24 hours! It took me about 50 hours in GameMaker just to make buttons work. Again, I recommend this.
Great Program! I got one Request tho Please add linux support or wine/proton support because I started hating on windows and swapped to linux.

i previously refunded this because i feel i bought it too early back in the autumn sale where it was $50. now it's the winter sale and it's 50 dollars again? are you for real? after numerous sales where you had it at a generous $20, especially back in the summer sale? you call that a good deal? edit 03/13/25: nothing's changed. this is like 15 or so years old and it's still getting these lukewarm "deals" in between being sold at full price? for a game engine that can only do 32 bit software? just download game maker, guys. edit 06/26/25: yall suck fr
Alright, after using this game engine for a somewhat decent chunk of time, I'll give my two cents on it to hopefully educate people with more information than just a simple "program bad & overpriced" without giving more details. Firstly, I think it can be very fun to use (albeit pretty frustrating at times), but I think it mainly works better as a tool to use for fun rather than to try and make games for profit off of it. The main reason I say this is that while you can make a lot of cool types of games in the software, it is very limited in specific areas being a 2D engine (and having an EXTREMELY limited 3D addon, that being Firefly). I also won't deny that I've also come across a case every once in a while where it feels like something that isn't working has no reason not to. (One simple example of this being how alterable values won't always update in Child Events.) Next, the pricing: Do I think the software is overpriced? Honestly, yes. While I understand that there's reasons the software isn't free (especially since it was seemingly coded by a fairly small team of people), I do think that it's current price certainly doesn't help bring in a lot of new users to the software. If you are going to buy it, I'd highly recommend doing so whilst it is on sale. That way, buying addons is also more reasonable (especially the plus DLC, which I recommend having along with base Clickteam Fusion 2.5 because of features like child events and Direct3D 11 support). Finally, I want to quickly clarify something: A lot of people (especially in the FNaF community, which is one of the biggest selling points for this software) will claim that the engine is very limited. While it is true that the engine's capabilities likely don't match with softwares like Godot, Unity, or Unreal Engine, it's easy to spread miscommunication of that when in reality it's the result of bad coding practices or a lack of knowledge of just how many things Fusion has to offer (especially related to object properties). You should definitely be using the help guides for the software and objects, but admittedly some things are missing help documents. Therefore, I'd also recommend trying to get into a community of people who're more experienced with the software and would be willing to help if you're gonna be serious with using this product. (One good example is the Clickteam Fusion 2.5 Discord server. Don't mention decompilation or piracy though.) So, to summarize my points: CTF can be fun to use, but works better for passion projects instead of paid projects. It is rather overpriced, so take advantage of the sale periods. Don't believe everything you hear, in this specific case focusing on blaming bad coding practices on the limitations of the engine. Of course, this is all my personal opinion. I hope this review is useful nonetheless. (One very last note: I wish Steam had an option that'd go between recommend and not recommend, such as "mixed". If that existed, that's probably what I would give this software instead.)
There are better engines for free out there. Even better commercial offerings.
i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ LOVE clickteam fusion. i bought this about 2 years ago, and to this day, its worth the $100. but thats the one thing is that its quite pricey so thats blows. other than that, its helped a lot. 10/10
This game engine just isn't really worth it these days. GameMaker and Godot are far better engines for far cheaper (or free!).
сделал 2 простеньких пиксельных игр. Дизайн проги уж слишком старый, да и ценник завышеный
I like funny bear game. I want to mod funny bear game and fangames of funny bear game made in clickteam fusion. obvious choice
