Stray на минималках.
City of Cats is a "simulator" game where you follow a family through 12 missions, who adopt a cat into their family. I got this game as a “gift”, however I still don't know why this product exists or what I did to get this game in general. You can have a laugh about how this game looks, especially the characters and also about the barebone and uninspired missions the game has. Also there are technical issues with this game, for example at one mission you need to ride a bike which you cannot do at all but at least you can finish this mission on foot. You can also often see characters and other props levitating in the game, not even mentioning the cursor disappears after a few minutes in the menus making the navigation really annoying. For 1€ the game offers like 15 - 20 minutes of gameplay, which is about going around a ghost town basically and sometimes doing small mini games. It feels half made and I don't recommend playing it at all. Thank you for the “gift”.
Okay so what you need to know before playing: 1) Dont jump, and if you do, you will enter heaven 2) Stairs are pretty much impossible to walk on, and they are slippery af when coming down 3) Cycling stops the time. 4) Game is unbeatable 5) Dont accidentally press ESC, it will ruin your life 10/10 game, would absolutely recommend to my family
every character vibrated all over the place. level 10 was not completable because it just caused time to stop permanently. mouse vanished and I had to line it up with my second monitor and find the button blind a few times.
Just bad and broken. Gameplay video: https://youtu.be/EYKyEgkSRdk
Warning: Asset Flip! "City of Cats" is an asset flip, or what Valve calls a "Fake Game". The "developer", Atomic Fabrik paid for/pirated someone else's cat simulator source code from an asset store, changed the name/reskinned a couple of things, and submitted it to Valve as if it was their own game.
Normally I'd list a series of examples of other asset flips from Atomic Fabrik, but he's had almost all of his games banned from Steam (all of them asset flips, all with fake/paid reviews). But you can see on SteamDB that the "developer" behind this was Cristian Manolachi if you look at the update history. This is an asset flip with no value to gamers, put on Steam as a fake game scam. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The mismatched game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, it's a wonder why they couldn't be bothered "borrowing" higher quality assets for this asset flip. This is a lot like going on a shoplifting spree but only stealing the cut price store brand goods. Regardless, the poor quality assets alone should be enough to deter gamers from bothering with this. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. This kind of asset flipping isn't harmless. It makes it harder for gamers to find genuinely made games from ethical developers. It makes it harder for genuine indie developers, who put hard work into trying to make real games, to find an audience for their products. It gives indie developers a bad name. So, should you buy this asset flip? Is this better than any of the 100,000+ genuinely made games on Steam? Of course not! "City of Cats" is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, and the questionable ethical nature of the developer and/or their associates (as outlined above), this is impossible to recommend. Remember that if you buy a game from an unethical developer, you're putting your money at risk.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
I bought this game as video fodder for my youtube channel. Game is absolutely horrible. For a start, the mouse cursor is hidden and you can never find it. Setting the mouse to ping whenever you press CTRL is a MUST to even make it through the game. Clearly this interface was made for mobile devices as there's 'buttons' on the screen that you have to drag your invisible mouse over to get them to work. The developer, having made a game that works this way, has decided to make a 'realistic' bicycle game, where you have to pedal by clicking an onscreen button with an invisible mouse cursor and steer by clicking another button onscreen, with your invisible mouse cursor. It took me about five attempts to ride a bike around the neighbourhood and one of those attempted ending with my failed necromancy experiment child contorting into a pretzel and falling over, unable to do anything else until I reset the game. The game looks abominable in all aspects, nothing is where it should be and the textures are inconsistent and ugly. The cat is only animated in its tail and it jumps 30 feet in the air, like it's the Hunter from Left 4 Dead and there's a timer of five minutes just arbitrarily thrown at you in every mission for no reason, other than to make the game even worse. I got a diagnosis of AIDs today, just before playing this game and the AIDs diagnosis is the second worst thing that's happened to me.
yknow, of all the games i played, a game that would just terminate whenever it pissing wants; now that is a new one to me
