Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Definitely as fun as I remember, but save your game often, as the Steam version likes to crash. You also may have trouble getting it running - google and you'll find others that had similar issues, and the way to resolve it. Take care to learn what your keyboard binds are, as the game instructs you to use the ABXY buttons often, which won't line up with what your keys are unless you make it that way, and since many of us use wasd keys to get around in games. that takes care of the A key! This version also has features that weren't in the SNES version, so there's a little extra for old players.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 5.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Classic! An RPG that stands the test of time.
A Genuinely Awful Port of an All-Time Classic JRPG Chrono Trigger is arguably one of the first genre-defining RPGs, and it stands out for a reason. The gameplay, art direction, and story all pioneered the JRPG genre and influenced the decades to come. These points have been reiterated countless times by countless people over the past 30 years, which alone stands as a testament to this game's staying power. Suffice it to say EVERY fan of JRPGs should at least try a playthrough of this game. That being said, this is unfortunately also the worst port of an old game I have ever played. The game crashed dozens of times through my playthrough, mostly upon entering new areas, both from the overworld and another room, as well as almost every single time a cutscene tried to play. I beat the game and the game crashed while trying to start the ending cutscene, and now I can't access the Extras from the main menu because the game didn't save my win. This port offers a handful of quality-of-life updates, but be prepared for constant crashes. Luckily the game bookmarks automatically after crashes, so I never lost more than a few minutes of time. Overall the horrible port isn't nearly meaningful enough to diminish one of the best RPGs of all time. Do yourself a favor and play Chrono Trigger. Genuinely a 10/10 game.
Solo los genios son capaces de hacer esto
This is my first time playing this game, and I did so because I enjoyed some modern JRPGs (like Chained Echoes) and realized how many of them were inspire by this. I can see why this is considered a classic, it has aged amazingly. I can only imagine having played this when it came out and getting nostaglia with it. Here are some of the good things I experienced with the game: -- For such an old game, this has so many QOLs that make the game fun to play and barely break the pacing. -- The characters are interesting and only get better as the story goes on. Same goes for the story. -- The music is iconic. -- Time travel and Overworld movement becomes a lot of fun as we get the Epoch. -- Side quests are genuinely exciting and rewarding, especially the ones where we have to manipulate events through time. -- 13 different endings, and a few variations on top of that depending on how you do things. -- Beautiful artwork and cutscenes. Even the steam cards are amazing to look at. However, there are some flaws I wish were fixed or redone in a remaster or remake: -- Game takes a while to get to the story, the events in the first 15 hours feel disjointed and filler, until they all connect to the world ending threat. -- The main character has less backstory than a Pokemon protagonist. I am not exaggerating. Like nothing at all to go by, so it makes the game uninteresting from the beginning until you recruit other characters and learn about their backstories. -- Combat is too simple and a slog to get through, especially in the beginning. I literally let the game play itself through the autoplay/ff button most of the time - It's uninteresting, slow, and boring until you unlock team moves and fight bosses. -- I wish the Epoch was available much earlier in the game, it makes playing a lot more fun once you can go anywhere and anywhen. Most of these flaws are relatively fixed by mid game, as everything gets better. The story especially gets so intruiging once you reach the Kingdom of Zeal. But I can't deny I dropped the game a few times because it was hard to stay interested during the first 15 hours. All in all, I recommend this game to new people. If you want to experience some gaming history, this won't disappoint once you get through the first act, so tame your expectations a little, it's still an old game. Maybe the best way to experience this would be the upcoming remake by Square Enix. I don't replay games, but if they add some new content, I'll be playing it for sure. 8/10
Great Game! Excellent on Steam
Probably the best SNES era JRPG of all time. This is a solid choice if you want to play a RPG that feels like a whimsical adventure with likeable characters that plays like a interactive fantasy novel. Though if you can get hold of the SNES version of this game I would play that over the Steam version. Also as a fair warning if you enjoyed Chrono Trigger and liked that happy ending Crono and gang got, do avoid the sequel Chrono Cross. It does the whole subversive thing and takes away the fun kid-like wonder of adventure in Chrono Trigger. Chrono Cross takes away the victories in Chrono Trigger. Chrono Cross is a darker tone, more somber story that forces you to face the harsh reality of consequences of past actions.
This was my first time ever playing Chrono Trigger 40+ hours to reach only one of many endings. What a great world, characters, music and over 30 year old combat that never felt boring always trying something new. From the secrets, great use of time travel mechanics and a nice roster of unique characters with their own goals in a large world i could not ask for much more from a game and yet the Chrono Trigger has so much more waiting for me. Highly recommend anyone to try. I only had one crash my entire playtime but some have many mileage may vary.
Wow. The music, sound effects, and vibrant world all come together in a pixel-perfect, rich storyline. It’s way better than the pixel version of Final Fantasy!
