Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

great game, came out in '95 and i just beat it for the first time in 2026. What a time to be alive. My story gripe is that we should have had a chance to pick our romance at some point in the story.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 5.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Best JRPG of all time of all time
One of the best RPGs you'll find out there. This game is decades old and it still could hold it's own against any game recently published. The writing is great, it looks beautiful despite it's age and the gameplay is polished. You can spend around 25 hrs in your first play trough without getting bored at all. If you played this when you were a kid on the SNES and never again I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you get this version, it includes anime cutscenes you'll never seen before and new side quests you've never played (like the Dimensional Vortex at the end of the game). If you have never played Chrono Trigger you should try it. This game has inspired a bunch of other new RPGs and a is a favorite of a lot of players. Your "friend" telling you this game is overrated has no idea what he or she is talking about and most likely has mental development problems.
10 out of 10
Always crashes on animated cutscenes. Incredibly annoying. Only fix is to disable Steam overlay and change the language to Japanese, restart the game, play until you get to the cutscene that triggered the crash, play the cutscene, save, exit game, go back to properties, then reenable steam overlay and switch the language back to your preferred setting. ......Not fun.
Such a classic. Just don't love if you're casting this particular one to obs you need to skip the cutscenes or it'll crash. Still worth.
A good game and good RPG. But far from perfect and not nearly as good as some people claim. I should'nt have to use multiple walkthroughs just to figure out where to go and what to do. Game also has a really bad tendency to shove you into a fight out of nowhere. But music is great, combat is fun, and the animations are lovely. Still recommend.
I recommend this game, just not this version. But if you have no other easy legal means to play this game, the Steam version is okay. Steam version would randomly crash on me. Sometimes 5 minutes in, repeatedly, other times an hour or two into a session. But the game has a decent enough auto-save that I never lost much progress. You can beat this game with some frustration, and still enjoy this classic. This being said, I have no nostalgia for this game, and just beat it for the first time after doing all side quests. Rumors were true, Game is a certified hood classic. Glad I finally played it for the first time, in my 30's. This being said, first half is cool and fine. 2nd half is where it really shines and shows itself for why people love it. And if you have never played before and decide to play this game, do those late game side quests. It's where a lot of "the magic" of this game is.
