This game has no business being this good. Most definitely the best GameMaker game I've ever played.

Great game to play with your partner. Almost endless builds.
At first glance this should be the perfect game for me, but it just fails to be enjoyable for me even tho I kept wanting to like it. I can explain some reasons for this, but it is also unfun for reasons I have not figured out yet. Everything just felt flat and generic and boring. If you are thinking, "Hey, you only played this for 8 hours," let me tell you, it felt like 80 hours. Levels were too open, just a big field with some minor obstacles in the middle. No dead ends. No mysterious corridors. No interesting gameplay aspects from obstacles or rooms or hallways. Even level is just: here is a big oddly shaped ballroom with some boxes in the middle you have to walk around. Too much loot. Just constantly going back to sell everything. The mumble-groan the shop keeper does is etched in my memory. The enemies felt just so samey to fight. In every game like this there are always one or two enemies that are annoying. I understand that. But in this game, the only enemies that stood out were because they were annoying, and all the other enemies were just plain boring to fight. No tactics! That is what is missing. Enemies just look different, but they do not fight different. I tried three different skill trees and they all felt about the same. All in the same class tho. The templar I think? It is that forgettable. In all these kinds of games, battles slowly build up until there are lots of effects firing, and it gets confusing, that is part of the excitement, but you are also amazed by the fireworks of it all. In this game, there is just the confusion, no wow. I don't get it. I don't know how they managed to do it. If anything, this game really makes me appreciate the game design effort that goes into other games in the genre. I didn't think there could be a 'Great Value' brand of an action rpg. But here it is.
Great game. Took years for me to finally get into it, glad I did.

I enjoyed Chronicon overall, but only just enough to recommend it. The biggest strength is the character progression. I played a Berserker with Dragonkin skills. Once my build came together, it felt satisfying to combine multiple attacks instead of relying on a single skill. Crafting is also more intuitive than in many ARPGs, and the maps are generally straightforward, so there isn't as much aimless wandering as in some other games. However, the difficulty curve on Normal is very uneven. The early game was actually the hardest part for me. Some enemy types, especially those that could freeze my character, were a real threat. But after Act 1 my build snowballed. By Act 5, I was level 64 with around 10,000 health, plenty of mana and 24 unspent skill points because I simply didn't need them. Bosses often died in under 10 seconds, I had no use for health or mana potions. I spent more time looking for the next objective than worrying about the enemies. I kept waiting for the game to become harder towards the end, but it never really did. Enemy variety also started to wear thin. There are plenty of monsters to fight, but after a while it felt like I was clearing similar packs over and over again. I would've liked to see more interesting enemy mechanics instead of mostly larger groups of familiar enemies. Overall, it's a fun ARPG and worth playing, but be aware that on normal difficulty the game becomes very easy for most of the campaign once your build comes together.
Super recomendado!
Baby's first Diablo 3, Very user friendly and easy to get into the genre, and with full coop and Couch coop support how could you say no.
