I suck at this game but I love it. (So much so that I've nominated it as my Best Game You Suck At in the 2023 Steam Awards!) The music is great - really enjoyable tunes that you can find yourself bobbing your head to, and just the right length that it isn't irritating when it loops, even if you spend hours stuck in a level. The pixel art is gorgeous. Scenery and character animations are charming and very well done, each area has a distinctive colour palette and overall vibe but everything ties in nicely, the yokai enemies are distinctive but designed in such a way that its clear what they are for yokai fans - my personal favourites are the karakasa kozo (the parasols), their attack animation is delightful (as long as a hit doesn't land, of course!). There are 6 areas to the game and, especially on your first trip through, most of them will pose at least a little bit of a challenge. The environments are very cleverly designed to encourage you to use all the tools at your disposal and there's plenty of little skips and tricks in there for speedrunners. The abilities, both optional and mandatory, are all well designed too, and easy to use when needed (which is great, because you'll be using them A LOT) The boss fights are just the right amount of challenging and as long as RNG hates you less than it does me, you should be able to get through them all fairly easily once you've got their patterns down (well, except for one...). There's not too many collectables, 2 cats and a handful of optional abilities per area, so you won't get collector's fatigue (though you may get frustrated with some of the ability stone collection challenges as they can be quite tough if you go for them on your first trip through an area!). Overall, I am loving this game so far and plan on 100%ing it, as well as speedrunning it. The game is a little buggy at the moment, but the devs are aware and patching so I'd say definitely buy it, but maybe don't teleport back to area 3 until after the next patch comes out (which will hopefully be soon).
Chronicles of 2 Heroes is a fun platformer that will appeal to most Metroidvania fans. Features some challenging traps and boss fights. Could use a touch more polish but a very fun experience overall.

Very fun game! Enjoy quickly switching between characters to optimize movement and speed. Great pick up for any 2D platformer enjoyer.
the italian isn't too complicated in this one, you have time to read everything. game developed by devs in italy, so the italian dialog is good. the game is a bit frustrating with the control system. you constantly need to swap between two characters, each with their own primary method of movement and attacking. the girl can double jump and throw kunai, but kunai are limited. the guy can't jump at all but can melee attack and dash through obstacles. you need to alternate between the two to maximize maneuverability. primarily, I'd say this game is a puzzle game. you have very little health, and because of the awkward control system, it's easy for you to get screwed over and get stuck taking hits. you will die a lot of dumb deaths in this, particularly against bosses. birds are the bane of your existence in this too. when you get used to the swapping mechanic, it feels good to do some cool maneuvers, and you'll find ways to circumvent challenges later in the game. you earn upgrades and new abilities that can absolutely break the game, and it has a new game plus. it's fun, but a bit rough around the edges, especially around the edges of the screen, where lots of buggy behavior can happen. I'd look forward to a second game that maybe streamlines the gameplay a bit more.
