This game was okay in the moment, but then had too many random terms. I have been in hetero relationships the entire time and all of a sudden I am dating the same sex randomly at the opening of a chapter. Wtf?? I thought this was *my* character. I stopped playing after that. Nothing against same-sex relationships, but I perceived this as more of a giant programming glitch or bad writing.
nice game. Well-written. Has some nice references a rock fan will appreciate. I was playing as Pink Floyd type band, but I believe, you can have a punk, grunge and metal band. There are some plot lines going nowhere and GUI is not getting better from game to game, but I still like Choice of ... series
I actually read through this one before it made it to Steam, and unfortunately I just couldn't get into it. As a metal head, that was pretty disappointing. Honestly, I have to give this one a 4/10.
The choose-your-own adventure game I've been waiting for! Choice of the Rock Star isn't one of the longer or deeper Choice of Games, but it's full of charm and each playthrough is just the right length to make me want to dive back in to live a different life, with a wide range of possibilities for your band and career. I recommend this game to anyone who's ever loved music.
The game fell pretty short to me. It ends at the very moment you expect it to explode further. Anyway, I enjoyed it, you'll be able to return it as I do when you complete it at one go.
way too short recommend picking up something else
Like most games by this studio, it's well written and fun. Happy to see nonbinary gender options and various sexualities for the main player. Compared to other games though - especially the other "rise to fame" game SLAMMED! (a pro wrestling choose your own adventure game) - it's really short and not as in depth. There was a good variety of options for how you approach your music, though! Overall, too short, but worth a playthrough.
