There Will Be No Turkey This Christmas

'There Will Be No Turkey This Christmas' is a short, fun, stealth-based chase game about a turkey who after gaining awareness is attempting to escape becoming dinner. There are three basic enemy types: patrols, with varying speeds; stationary, who are preoccupied and distracted with their phones; and the dog, who alerts people to your location. Your goal is to avoid them and find the level exit; you can hide in a barrel that you carry - although don't worried if you do get spotted, you still have a chance to escape if you can outrun them. Along the way there are hidden areas, collectables and keys to unlock doors. Every key will unlock every door. The visuals are nothing special but they are distinct and present clear information. It does feel too zoomed in however, patrolling enemies sometimes appeared out of nowhere because of this. One level also had an enemy immediately spotted the turkey upon spawning in, so that was interesting. There are 30 levels total and they're very short - approximately 30-60 seconds if you're looking for collectables, sometimes less than 10 if you're just speeding through. It took me 2 hours to casually obtain every achievement.

There Will Be No Turkey This Christmas (aka There Will Not Have Turkey At Christmas) is a 2D retro pixel top down stealth game that's been slapped together with the godawful GameMaker Studio video game construction kit from Yoyogames. It's a basic console tier stealth game where you guide a turkey around a JRPG looking house with crap graphics to avoid being caught and cooked. GameMaker Studio is a very poor quality game construction kit, and unsurprisingly results in products that have little to no value as games, especially when compared to the work of professional developers who create genuine products for gamers. Using a video game construction kit requires little to no talent or skill as a game developer. Very often, GameMaker Studio is used to make shovelware and lazy cash grabs. Like most GameMaker Studio construction kit "games", this features lazy 2D retro pixel "art", instead of professionally done, contemporary PC graphics. Controls and resolution are locked, which pushes this below acceptable standards for PC. Furthermore, because controls are locked, keyboard controls are locked out so this game will be [b]unplayable[/b] unless you use a console peasant childrens toy gamepad instead of KB+M. This is an unacceptable insult to PC gamers.

Zerei o jogo dia 25 de dezembro de 2021, mas esqueci de fazer a análise então tô voltando aqui JNDSALKJDNLKJASDDS O jogo é muito divertido, as fases são bem variadas e gostosas de se explorar (apesar de alguns cômodos repetitivos aqui e ali, mas não achei tão repetitivo, e considerando que é uma desenvolvedora indie, não vi problema nisso). As skins do jogo são todas muito bonitas e diversificadas, e, considerando o tempo curto de gameplay, achei uma quantidade bem adequada de skins pro tempo que se leva pra zerar. Os gráficos são MUITO LINDOS E FOFOS. Sei que depende muito do gosto de cada jogador, mas adoro gráficos assim em pixels, então achei os gráficos do jogo muito lindos e agradáveis de se olhar. As músicas, apesar de poucas, são agradáveis de se ouvir. Não identifiquei muito bem se é apenas 1 música que roda em looping, ou se são 2 que rodam em looping em sequência/intercalando entre fases, mas, de qualquer forma, sendo 1 ou 2, não se tornaram enjoativas pra mim pois o jogo tem a proposta de ser bem curtinho, então até zerar, você acaba não enjoando (pelo menos no meu caso, que tive uns 3200 segundos de gameplay jogando as fases até zerar, de acordo com os dados do jogo. E, somando com o tempo no menu e no seletor de fases aberto fazendo coisas outras coisas, totalizou umas 3h-4h). Enfim, gostei muito do jogo e achei um excelente jogo para se jogar no natal, então, muito obrigada por terem desenvolvido um jogo bem feito, e que foi feito, ao meu ver, com bastante carinho, independente de ser ou não uma desenvolvedora indie. E pelo preço acessível, vale mais a pena ainda 🌈

It’s Christmas and we need a Christmas game. Well, here comes a little arcade game set during Christmas called There Will Be No Turkey This Christmas. The framing for this game sounds just like you can guess from the game’s title. You play as a turkey who has yet to be killed, but unlike the other turkeys, you have a chance at escaping. So you jump into a barrel and make a run for it. Funnily enough though, this family does have other turkeys so it’s not like they’d have no turkey. Granted, the turkey you play looks way better. Playing through the various levels is actually pretty easy. There are 5 sets of 6 levels based on the different rooms that a house will usually have and that you’ll be walking around in each level. Of course, you won’t have free reign as the different members of the family that want to eat you is looking for you to walk by. Each of them will patrol in some way with a searchlight showing their line of view. To help you get past them in hallways, you can hide temporarily in the barrel you’re wearing, peeking out to make sure they walk away (there are footsteps you can hear to help you out more as well). Though, you can run away and dodge these guys if your dodging skills are up to it. The last level of a set will also feature a dog which will follow your scent. It’s best to stay away as if the dog gets to close to you, it will bark and alert any family members that are close, even if you’re hiding in a barrel. However, you will need to gather some keys to unlock locked doors needed to get to the exit. There are also collectibles you can get in each level as it can either just have a rainbow feather or a rainbow feather and an item like toothpaste or cheese. These can be laying around on the floor by a table or something, but some will be behind optional locked doors or a doorway hidden by a false side drawer leading to a creepy hidden room. Collecting these will not only contribute to your score, but they will also unlock cosmetics for your barrel. This was fun to play through, and it was cute to boot. While this does become easy once you realize you can run away when you’re spotted, you can make this a bit harder on yourself. Like getting the best score on every level or not getting spotted at all. I did notice some bugs here and there, but there was really only one instance that made it difficult to get past the family member (one that made the search light spin around them so they see everything no matter where they are actually facing), but even then I was able to outrun them. [h1]Verdict[/h1] If you’re in the mood to play an arcade game that looks pretty cute and doesn’t really take too long, There Will Be No Turkey This Christmas can fill in the void of having nothing to do. I certainly played this while my internet was out and while I was originally just going in to play a couple levels, I found myself already in the last set of levels before I stopped to sleep (which I then went back to complete the game once I woke up). Sinceramente comprei o jogo sem esperar muito, tanto o trailer quanto o preço foram bem atrativos mas achei que seria só mais um joguinho simples que ia enjoar rápido. O joguinho do peru stealth é bem mais que um joguinho simples e curto. Além de ser muito bonito visualmente, seus efeitos e trilha sonora são impecáveis e não se prendem a apenas músicas de natal mesmo o tendo como temática. Sua gameplay é relaxante, divertida e fácil de entender, com cenários distintos e itens a serem coletados. E falando em itens, ao coleta-los você vai desbloqueando skins para personalizar seu peru! Não sei porque achei esse jogo tão divertido, mas com certeza recomendo se você quer um jogo bonito e com uma mecânica simples pra jogar um pouco quando estiver cansado de todo o resto. Btw vi que nas discussões tem um tópico para reportar bugs, mas por sorte não vi nenhum enquanto jogava, acredito que já removeram todos ou grande maioria.

This game is super fun and well worth the money. The levels are well designed, the collectables are fun to find, and the unlockable skins are hilarious. I had loads of fun playing this and I only wish it was a little longer, because I enjoyed it so much. I'll be looking forward to a sequel, if Creative Hand decide to make one.

Ein schönes Escape/Evade Game. Hat mir viel Spaß gemacht und ist mittelmäßig schwer. Manchmal macht man es sich selbst kompliziert, je nachdem wie man an die Level herangeht. Wenn man alle Collectables haben möchte ist das relativ aufwändig aber es macht Spaß. Kann man auf jeden Fall empfehlen. Ich habe keine Bugs oder sonstiges in Erinnerung.
