Chiaroscuro Imago

The characters being written in an almost-archaic, foreign verbiage lends the game directly to a sense of otherworldly awe, like you've entered a realm you have zero reason to even be a part in. The sheer confusion and fear of the 'unknown' has been successfully captured here. Despite its short, 30 minutes-ish runtime there is something so compelling about trying to make sense of this world. Overall it's short and sweet (pardon the pun) and doesn't reveal its hand too early. Leaves you thinking for a while.

[/i] Chiaroscuro Imago is a delightfully dense and surgically wordy (not verbose, [u]wordy[/u]) playable film, where you are (distantly, mockingly) guided through a chilling and thought provoking body horror that touches on themes of economic depression, religion, and the lengths people will go in desperation to maintain a premise. Highly recommended.

A delightful little romp through a world that hints at deep complexity and mythology. For the literary among us - but not only them. You'll never look at a diner the same way again.

As any good dream, the echoes from its last couple of minutes resonate from beginning to end. What happened to the moths? I still need to know.
