i wish there was a misophonia mode because the eating noise is terrible. but otherwise its a very cute game and you interact with other people if you run into them so its literally like a chatroom
Chatventures is just the cutest little escape. I could spend hours exploring, teaming up with friends I met along the way, and taking on fun little battles together. It’s super chill, and the community? Honestly, one of the nicest I’ve seen. Everyone’s friendly, funny, and always down for an adventure. Whether you’re here for the quests or just to chill with cool people, it’s a total win. Also it's dead cheap! Just get it! If you have a friend is annoying you to play, just get it okay!!!
This plays a bit like a MUD with a graphical interface. You have to type in everything, and it's real time which makes fights... odd. You have to type in "punch slime" over and over in order to kill the first few. Then you go to the various merchants and figure out what they sell (buy saying "ask (name) about stock") and what you need to buy it. However all of the prices in Smalltown appear to be wrong. I talked to both merchants in the Smalltown area, and both were charging double what they told me. And because they want so much it's a bit of a grind to get even a basic set of rags. Then there is the multiplayer aspect. There was only one other person playing when I tried it. There is no option to play alone. And there is no way to stop others from taking the loot you earned. First to type "pick up softwood 3" wins. Which can be entertaining if you are a fast typer, but... there aren't a lot of people playing so it's less fun. This probably was fun when there were others playing, and more people figuring out what all the commands were, but now it's mostly a slog.
Sokpop makes cute little games that you can usually finish in a few hours, and this one is by far my favourite. After completing all quests, defeating all bosses, obtaining all achievements and having "finished" the game, I could still not stop playing. The best thing about this game is its community. While the player base is small, the ones that do play are wonderful, and are always willing to help. The developer is involved, listens to the players and has lots of ideas. He recently brought out a series of updates, with more coming if he can find the time. Keep in mind that the fights are real time, which makes them very intensive on typing. Hence, I'd only recommend this game if you are interested in text-based games and decent at typing. If you love cosy little games, I'd also recommend looking at the Chill Adventure bundle: https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/23528/Chill_Adventure/
I think i get it, it's like old MUDs except it isn't a cryptic mess disguised as an RPG. It's an actual game you can play.
This is surprisingly a good game, i honestly just bought it because my friends and i are looking for a cheap game to play around with. Sure, it's awkward at first because the mechanic is just typing, but it doesn't take long to get the hang of it. My only complaint is, why is the party system limited to only one other person at first? And every time you login it reset. It's suck if you have more than one friend to play with, because someone have to wait to be invited to party. I don't see any good reason why even make that mechanic.
very fun little game, albeit grindy.
nice game to relax too. players are nice
cosy game. good players, good chats, good memories.
