its truly baffling how bad the writing is for a game that has this much effort put into it. The first missions objective is to hack into the george floyd trial and send the bribe money to either george floyds father or to yourself. Cool, topical. you are then told that "The following experiment is to find out how society will respond to a statement that defines the main idea of our faction, as the global happiness and success of the world is our TOP priority." Soooo cool, this is what happens when you let the programmers write your game story. The bad story would have been excuseable, but the broken english in just about every sentence is just too much. You'd think that if you base your entire game around terminals you'd not bog ♥♥♥♥ down with animations that take a full second. You're constantly navigating between "nodes" and you can't have multiple windows or connections up at once, so you're constantly backing out of nodes and going back because you need to read a .txt again or because you forgot something. Annoying ass animations are constantly playing in the background making the text hard to read, the story is told through a chatbox and to make it seem more realistic giant walls of texts are sent to you in 3 second intervals so you have to wait for all of the 15 message to be sent because otherwise you're constantly losing track of what line you were reading because of the influx of new paragraphs. The "task" windows broke multiple times and wouldn't show me the relevant mission objective. Funniest of all is the decision to display your actual real IP in the game for some reason, who thought this was a good idea is beyond me.

DO NOT STREAM THIS GAME It shows my [b]real IP address on-screen[/b] even when I check the option to hide it. This is such a simple thing for a serious part of your online security and it doesn't work. If you're playing a hacking game I assume you know why this is a bad thing, but if not it means people can find your approximate location and can attempt to connect to your home network or DDoS you.

NO UPDATES IN 3 YEARS!?!?! Why is this game still up for sale? Why is this game still in Early Access?

There is alot of potential here but sadly thats all that is. The game is a scripted story desguised as a simulation and it does neither one well. For example, you can upgrade your system but it does nothing to improve the speed of how your computer is functioning. Because it is heavily scripted, you can't use logic to do things out of order. Even if it seems like it should work, it won't, because you have to hit certain story triggers in the right order. If there was actually something more of a simulation so that upgraded parts actually had an effect or the in-game GUI actually behaved like an OS file browser, it would help so much. The translation to English for most of the missions is really bad. Sometimes so bad that the game is telling you to do one thing, but really means the opposite. There are alot of bugs and again, some are hard to troubleshoot because of the broken English translation. There is apparently a whole PvP system that I'll never get to see because of these bugs. If you're looking for a good hacking game, this is not it.

This game has a ton of potential. Right now we have a great sandbox to create interesting player drive gameplay and story, with a decent single player hacking experience. If you liked the idea of Hackmud, this I think would tickle that same itch and as of the time of this review (5/20/22) is early enough now that you can really cement yourself in this space and create something really interesting.

There are only few good hacking games out there and I can tell you this is one of the best. If you played Hacknet or similar games... you will love it! You can compete with other players, create your own hacking strategies, search for the best hacking tools to solve your needs, protect your network and make it saver or inflitrate other networks to steal their crypto coins? This is up to you... You also can chat with other players or join them in one of three different teams, depending on your preference. Hackers, Protectors or Freelancer.... it's your choice... Now - it's your time to become the most influential hacker...
