Charterstone: Digital Edition

This game is very confusing at first, but after about 3 hours of aimlessly playing I started understanding where points come from, and how to beat my opponents. I own the game as a board game, but have not played it yet as it seemed a bit overwhelming, getting it on sale on Steam seemed (and was) a good way to learn it before I started laying permanent stickers down in my real life version. Very glad I purchased this digital copy, I think I have a decent grasp on the game now, and am looking forward to seeing where the story goes.

A great digital version of a fantastic board game. I originally fell in love with this game via physical copy but it took us and a few friends almost half a year to complete as it was hard to get together. This has a remote play, and couch co-op version that makes this game super accessible and we were able to finish a campaign in just a week or two. Highly recommend for anyone looking to play a fantastic game with far-away-friends. Still playable solo to, but not sure it would be worth the investment just to play by yourself.

Yes, but with a change to the options. Ive played the physical copy of the game with six players throughout the full campaign before I got the digital version. Ive since played one game of a fully made map (which I think is a great option to have available) and now Im playing a campaign with just one other AI player to see how it plays. The problem I see with it is though I get so see what choices the opponent made if I keep an eye on the symbolism on the bottom, I cant pause the game during their actions to see exactly how the AI played. This as an option to the game would be a vast improvement to give players a chance to strategize as you would at a table. That's really my only gripe with the game at the moment. Add that as an option to pause the AI actions so you can watch their actions.

The Digital Edition made me go back and take a second look at the tabletop game. I had played the campaign with only 2 players and it all felt bland. There were so many options that resource management and action selection (so important for a worker placement game) never felt engaging. Playing the digital edition campaign with 4 players made it a lot more interesting. It is not a brain burner, but at this higher player count there is more interaction and competition, requiring players to be more mindful of the little victory-point engines they are making. The interface works well and it is smart enough to e.g. allow an action that requires a resource that the player will gain when they place their minion on that action. It is also easy to view the resources of other players, available cards and other important information. I have not encountered bugs so far, only a glitch that makes the objectives icon show up larger than it should in the objectives window. To sum it up, this is a competent conversion of the board game and its campaign system adds to the replayability.

Not a perfect implementation, but I really like the board game and it plays so much faster than the physical game. There is no SEARCH bar in the rulebook. There are so many rules to the board game that I often have to pause and Google the rules.

One of the better conversions out there. If you plan on playing with friends (online) maybe play the first campaign solo to get the tutorials out the way. PS if you want 1 copy and shared play is an option if want to play on the cheap (just play a non online game :) )_

Gra w wersji multimedialnej nie różni się od wersji planszowej. Dzięki temu, że jest to legacy każda rozgrywka jest inna dzięki czemu gra jest regrywalna. Bardzo wciągająca, piękne grafiki. Polecam

I love the boardgame version, played the campaign 3x now. The digital version is fast, it's a bit hard to keep track of what the AI players do (I used 5).
