As you can see, I used to like the game. It's gone to ♥♥♥♥. They use genAI images without disclosing it on the Steam page. They also put out a random free puzzle a while ago for isntrael. Didn't do that for Palestine, though, at least when I still had it installed. For people who want a real multiplayer jigsaw puzzle game, go to Tanggle instead. Support real people who care, not this garbage.

When searching for multiplayer games this comes up as coop and 4-player coop (as its tags) however after downloading this is only single player. This is dissapointing to have false tags to get the game seen more. As a single player puzzle game its not to bad lots of options but gets expensive to purchase a collection of them. There are many puzzle games out there some that are on par with this one some wose. I would consider changing my review if you change your tags.
The broken jigsaw makes me hunt pieces in the void, yet each found piece feels like a triumph over gravity, and I can't stop being hooked by this puzzle!
You know what they say about free-to-play games. "If it's free, YOU are the product". Well, in this case, it's more a "choose-the-content-of-your-game" case and it's entirely up to you to pay or not. The game comes with a decent amount of free puzzles, plus those you can unlock with in-game earned currencies: gold puzzle pieces once when you complete one, and hint pieces you can trade for them regularly awarded each time working on a puzzle. Plus the purple magical-instant-unlock of the monthly puzzle, a lifesaver for the Terracotta Army one which costs 250 (!!!) hard-earned gold pieces otherwise. So, there's already plenty to do without spending a cent for it. So. Yes, there are also TONS of DLCs. And you can quickly spend much more into it than you intended to because there are, inevitably, a few, or a lot, themed packs to suit your tastes. That's the thing: there's something for everyone, no matter if you love landscapes or flowers or zombies, dogs, modern art, sugar things... But, again, nothing forces no one to buy any of them. If the regular price is, indeed, high for most, just wait for the sales: a 90%-cut on several 10€ packs and you can stuff your game for a few bucks with enough puzzles to wait for the next sale. The game runs very well on steam deck, with the mouse-only configuration. Perfectly fine for me, but not for my touchpad-allergic partner, so, just be aware of it. Still on the gameplay side, you CAN'T snap-and-grab pieces together BUT they'll automatically anchor at their intended place so, sometimes, you accidentally discover it just when moving pieces around to sort them out. I won't complain 😅 While i definitely can't read on screens, ending with sort of a book cave you can hardly navigate in, switching to digital jigsaws only presented benefits so far. So, keeping in mind the choice to pick up some DLCs is not artificially forced and allows you to build your game really with the themes you want, i can only, obviously, and happily, recommmend this one. On the autistic experience : perfect insomnia-nights pastime, decent early panic-attack stopper BUT beware if your mind, like mine, tends to wander in unwanted directions when working on mechanical-repetitive tasks as it can also have the opposite effect. Not the game's fault at all, just something to know if you're in the same boat.
Puzzle gaming 11/10
The worst game in the series. This was the first one I played and honestly I almost didn't give the other versions a shot because of how obnoxious this version was coded. Your puzzle pieces are floating in a 'pond' of sorts. Which means the puzzle pieces not set in the building area actually can....float away! They all move with the water and 'currents' so the pieces can migrate quite far from where you left them. The trays found for sorting in other games are missing from this version, so nothing stays put. There are more options to 'buy' ways to solve problems, but they kind of all just....build the puzzle for you. I'd understand if say they had an option with in game currency to find all the edge pieces for you, but no. It's pay the currency and we will build it! Seeing a preview image is free, and you can move it around this version which is a plus. Still no building outside of the puzzle area, and without trays it's even more annoying. The building area itself is highly textured, so you can miss some details in the ghost image. Still no options to change the cut styles and number of pieces in each image so that's not too fun either. It does have a wide library of free images which is why I stuck around so long. The game itself runs well, doesn't find a way to tax my gpu, and I would find I accidentally left it running all day when I'd tab out of the game in frustration for a moment's break and then never resumed playing with no obvious system lagging or trouble. (Go adhd!)
Playing Pixel Puzzles Ultimate Jigsaw Puzzles is enjoyable and more convenient than playing a tangible jigsaw puzzle. I don't have to worry about losing a piece at all or find space to store the jigsaw puzzles in my small bedroom. I recommend Pixel Puzzles Ultimate Jigsaw Puzzles.
