About
Chainsaw Warrior from Games Workshop is the classic nail-biting game for one strong-nerved player! It's the year 2032 and spatial warping has opened a hole into another dimension in the midst of the old municipal buildings at the heart of Manhattan. Bizarre and dangerous creatures are flooding into our dimension, intent on destruction. Behind their actions is a controlling intelligence known as 'Darkness', who intends to drag New York back into the warp – destroying it utterly!
Air strikes, ground assaults and WMDs have all failed to stop the swarming forces from beyond. All that remains is a single hope: a shadowy ex-special forces soldier, enhanced for combat and known only as 'Chainsaw Warrior'. Equipped with all the latest high-tech armaments, he must battle his way through to the trans-dimensional ground-zero and defeat Darkness. Not only are there swarms of zombies, mutants, traps, Chaos Agents and other twisted denizens between him and Darkness, time is the enemy too! Only an hour remains to save New York before it is torn from our world forever.
First published as a solo boardgame in 1987, it has been updated, translated and re-engineered for the digital generation. In Chainsaw Warrior it's just you against both the clock and a tide of evil! Can you prevail where all others have failed? You only have 60 minutes to save New York!

I'm surprised this has Mixed reviews, I think it's a great little game. Definitely for people who enjoy solo board-games but this is a bona-fide 80s Games Workshop game, made when the company was arguably at their creative peak, and this is a perfect example of the range that their team had at that time. Nice conversion too, well presented.
Yes.
The game does not work on Windows 11, simple as. Stay the hell away and don't give these banjaxers any money.
Not only the game is extremely bad it's also stupid and suffering from a really bad UI. Why do I need to select my knife every single time when I'm fighting hand to hand even though it's my only melee weapon? And by the way, why there is no CHAINSAW?
I really want to like this game. I love the concept. I love the skills and equipment. I love dice rolls seem to be a fair chance. However, what I don't love is repetition, unfair nonsense, and utter disregard for difficulty settings. When you start, you get to choose, easy, medium, or hard. This is a paper choice, it only affects how many items you carry, it basically doesn't matter otherwise. Then you move on to the deck. You will be fighting enemies hand-to-hand because ranged weapons are useless due to near-perfect rolls being required. Click, roll, defeat weak enemy, click, roll, defeat weak enemy, click, roll, restart your game because a Chaos Agent just exploded on you and destroyed all of your items. I am sad at how disappointed I am with how repetitive everything is. It's either mind-numbing easy zombie stomping, or it's completely unfair cards that result in totally wasting your time left or destroying a number of items with basically no chance to stop. I don't want to any more.
Great game, I love playing this a lot on my mobile tablet. Previously I owned an iPhone back then, and the game worked smoothly. Then when I switched to a Galaxy Samsung Android it couldn't execute the game over sequence when you've lost health or gained too much venom or radiation. Even if you killed darkness, it still wouldn't execute. HOWEVER! On the PC version, the game works just fine. I question on the rules of the game, as I seem to randomly get poisoned often here and there... I wish I could read the rules to understand this game, made in 1987... In any case, the game is play able. To win this game, the odds are completely against you, and is meant that way. It really inspires Doom vibes in a RPG aspect. If you are board, and looking to waste time on a 1 player RPG game, buy this game. It's difficult to win, but what counts the most is decision, you are playing a game of chance here, using 6 sided dice system; mostly using 2 D6s mostly.
A great digital reworking of the old board game classic, plays smoothly, looks and sounds great and still punishingly hard as nails
Quick and Stupid. Love it.
