I have played TGC VR and now trying Everyday golf. Swing mechanics: I find when making a 3/4 controlled swing you can achieve the distances set for each club. In TGC VR I struggle to get the club head speed to match my real life swing and club distances which lets TGC VR down for me. Overswinging in will introduce slices and hooks and missed shots in both games, therefore I find the swing mechanics easier in Everyday Golf on full shots. Short game is hit and miss, no real feel to the shot in the way TGC VR has. If you find yourself on a steepish down slope, forget about it, your shanking it as the game can't deal with you swinging your club back into the bamk and forward again. Putting: this is where the game really falls down. This is bad! Medium to long putts, the ball will fly of the club face. Short putts of around 3 to 4 feet or less the ball becomes a sticky ball, very hard to judge pace. It really is a lottery. TGC VR I feel has got this preety much nailed. I have played through the tutorial, which is a few par 3 holes. When completed it opens up a few more options. Competitive Mode and Tour Mode. Tour mode lets you play by yourself and I think uploads your score to compete against other players who have taken part that day. This was again only a par 3 course (I HAVE YET TO PLAY A PAR 4 OR PAR 5). Competitive mode lets you compete against 3 other friends, swaping your headset amoungst each other. There DOES NOT seem to be single player in this mode leaving the game extremley limited?? Visuals: I find the visuals good, the game has went for a more sort of cartoony look (everybodys golf type) which is pleasing to my eye. Game options are very limited. There is no slider for the sound effects. The ambience is way to loud and can only be turned on or off. If this game can sort the putting out and beef out the gameplay I will come back to it. There is certainly a place for this game and TGC VR to be in my games library but untill then I am going to refund.
You may be sceptic about my review, but I´m going to be fully honest now: This is the best VR golf game out there today, and overall the best VR golf simulator experience I have ever played. Don´t take me wrong - I´m a big fan of The Golf Club VR and also Online Golf VR, but in at least 8 out of 10 aspects, the Everyday Golf VR is a better, more polished and complete VR golfing simulator overall. I have recently made a in-depth and long gameplay video showing you as much as possible from this title, and hopefully it gives you an idea of how it looks and feels - judge for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GJ_9PpGA1I Anyway, I´m gonna try to be short in my review, but there are some stuff I feel I just have to mention: Graphics, sounds & performance: The graphics are just gorgeous. Simply mindblowing - this is how a VR golf game and simulator should look! The surroundings are extremely detailed, polished, and realistic. The enviroments makes you feel like you are standing on a beautiful, vivid and shiny realistic golf course. 10/10 no doubt. Also, its SHARP! I could play this game with Supersampling 1.8 (even while recording), and 2.2 without recording on my GTX 1080 Ti. So I´m sure that you can play this on at least SS 1.5 with a 980 Ti without any reprojection at all. Even a GTX 970 should handle this game with full framerate as well, without a doubt. The sound effects, environmental sounds (like birds, wind etc) are flawless and really adds to the immersion. Content included (current first release): As far as I know there are totally 63 holes to play in this release, both long and short. There is a singleplayer mode where you unlock every new hole with points you earn depending on how good you play. There are rewards (gold/silver/bronse) that gives you different points that you later can spend to unlock new courses and also buy better gear (shops apparently coming up in next update). There is also a "Competitive Mode" with local multiplayer (playing 2 or more players with same headset, switching after every hole). A "Tour Mode" is still locked, so I assume its coming very soon. I´m not sure what that mode is about, but it sounds promising. Gameplay, physics and club handling: Well, if you have played The Golf Club VR, you will feel familar with the steep learning curve. This is a VR golf simulator, not an arcade VR golf game. Its difficult from start, and it takes time to get better - but that also gives you many gameplay hours while practicing. The replay-view is just incredible - so useful and cool looking! Golf club-selector is easy to handle and understand. You have loads of useful information displayed and it all helps you for every stroke. There is also an advanced swing-analysis that helps you understand your swings and what you should improve. The physics are awesome as well as the golf club handling. It feels very realistic and also very challenging in the beginning. I can truly say that I dont miss much from The Golf Club VR here - maybe the ability to grab a club from the golf bag by yourself. In this simulator, you have a selector to manually choose clubs and you get them in your hand automatically. The Golf Club VR has still that little "edge" in realism to be honest, but I still cannot find anything wrong with the realism in Everyday Golf VR either, and overall the physics and club handling feels more solid and natural in Everyday Golf VR. Well, there is one thing I don't like: The fact that if you end up very close to the hole (and miss) it will automatically skip the last put and you will proceed to next hole (just like in Online Golf VR) Value for the money: Well, just as The Golf Club VR, this game is not cheap (above 30 Eur). If you are looking for a simple VR golf game to enjoy 20 minutes here and there, you can probably find cheaper and easier VR games on Steam. But if you are into golf, love golf simulators, appreciate stunning VR graphics and love to spend hours in VR golf simulators challenging yourself and your friends, well then Everyday Golf VR is a no-brainer - you just have to try it (belive me). End words: All in all, in my opinion this is the best VR golf game of 2017, and I can also say it´s the best (with some tiny exceptions) the most polished, best looking and most immersive VR golf simulator out so far. Watch my entire video above and you will probably understand. Keep up your great work, developers - and keep the updates coming with more content! Cheers SweViver
First - I've been a golf game fan for years, at least since playing Tiger 2008 on the 360. It's hard to find comparably good golf games on the PC, much less in VR. This one does a pretty good job of it. It's kind of like being inside an EA sports golfing title from maybe a few years ago - which is definetely not a bad thing at all, in fact, it's great. I had originally purchased The Golf Club VR based on it's reviews - primarily that it was regarded as a more accurate 'simulation' rather than just a game. I refunded that game and got this one which is in my opinion MUCH better than that one. I think because of all of the reviews I thought that this one would not have a realistic feel, but, it absolutely does. This game runs well (at least on my fairly high end rig) as where The Golf Club VR does not. It's fairly pretty and does not drop frames, unlike the other game which is ugly and blurry no matter what. The swing mechanics are good - I do prefer the way they represent your swing path with lines in the other game, but, this game just has so muich more going for it that I'm going to look past the little details. This is actually a 'game' - it has you progress through courses in a single player mode, and it also has a multiplayer (trade-the-headset) mode, which is awesome for having friends over (haven't tried this yet, but I'm really glad it has this feature). I was afraid the putting would suck on this one because of the other reviews. I think it's fine - it is difficult, but, real putting is also difficult and this seems fairly accurate. I think I might have liked the putting in The Golf Club VR slightly better, but with all the other problems that game has, it's not a fair trade off at all for this fairly great putting system. The music and ambience is better in this game but I wish there was a volume for it instead of just 'on' or 'off'. I wish you could re-center your play space or change the direction of your shot (also moving the play space). Because you can't, you just need to plan to have an extra large play area. It also positions the ball about 6 inches outside the play area - for me this is fine because I have a little room for a swing slightly outside the play area, but if I really want to hit it at a different angle, it could get difficult. It really needs a re-centering option or at least the option to position the ball somehwere else in your play area. This is a downside of this game, and probably the biggest IMO. The bright news is that it's much less common in this game that I actually need that feature - but when I do, man, I would really like to have it. Either way, I would absolutely recommend this game especially over the other one. This is the best VR golf we have until someone else does it better, or the developer actually fixes these somewhat minor issues which would make it pretty much perfect. If they fix this, I would be very happy to update my review.
Really getting some fun out of this game but would really appreciate an option to remove the whole concede thing and just let me finish the hole (even if it is +12), having trouble progressing on some holes which does make it frustrating for a casual player. Graphically it's pretty awesome and it's a whole lot of fun, but please remove stroke limits for holes.
This game has issues. Tracking is prone to errors, resulting in no-hits or erratic ball direction. My biggest gripe is the total lack of in-game vr adjustment. There is no ability to reset view, recenter playing position, adjust floor height or club length. The result is you slowly migrate to the edge of the play area, or you need to bend over double to reach the ball. I have tried the game on 2 different vr systems, and it's the same on both. I have asked for a refund, but I will keep an eye on the game. If they fix these issues it might be fun.
I love the idea of this game, the graphics are awesome and the golf swing feels great. I own both this game and the Golf lub VR which is this games main competitor in the VR space and this game should/could wipe the floor with TGCVR on so many levels but it doesnt. On the Oculus Rift I find the golf swing so unreliable and unpredictable that one minute I am hitting a great shot, the next is out of bounds. I'm not sure if I am swinging too fast but each shot results in a riduculous hook or slice but ocasionally a good or great shot. I played golf in real life so have an idea how to swing a golf club but somehow the game is not translating that in the game properly - i.e. if I have a bad swing I would usually expect the same bad shot to happen regularly - not the random hook/slice I get right now. I would love to recommend this game, god knows I have perservered Everyday Golf but I would say to my friends and steam users reading this (particularly if you have an Oculus Rift) to stay away from this game for now until these issues can be fixed. TGCVR is single player only and is not as nice a game as this is graphically but works much better in practice. It's such a shame and I hope the developers can fix this issue real soon as I would love to play this properly,
devs wonder why we dont buy apps its because they do really well for awhile and then they get buggy and abandon the app and then it dont work and we are out of a game and money spent.... now this dont work i get a white screen on load up and its dead anymore anyhow...
I avoided this game until 50% off as the reviews made it sound bad. I figured I could try it out and return if its not good. Well, its actually lots of fun. I've played about 6 VR golf games, all of the most popular from PSVR to Oculus. This is close to on PAR (pun intended) with them so far. Good game.
i had high hopes but there were a few things wrong with this game... not all my buttons worked in game... using index controllers....the game would reposition me all the time and half the time i turned my head the screens in game rotated so i had to contort to see my live view shot...my friend has a small space for vr and it kept placing him in random places in his room. i wasnt able to bring up the menu in game and i wasnt able to choose my club.....the game itself isnt bad... but the putting can be sooo much better...why cant i just play a whole course with my friend? play walkabout mini golf and you will see just how realistic putting can be. why do i get sent to the lobby if i dont make the a double bogey or less when playing multiplayer? i bought this cause of the multiplayer.. and dont understand why at this point there isnt a really good multiplayer golf game... baffling..... have to refund cause its basically unplayable for me.
So I took a leap of faith with this game. There is some mixed reviews but I prefer to judge for my self. I don’t know if it’s just not so compatible with HP reverb G2 but it’s not a dream to try and play. I tried to get the floor right and adjusted my floor in windows mixed reality to try and resolve the issue. I had to lean over to get the club behind the ball which was no good and there isn’t a reset position or to be ability to adjust the club length. I think there is potential for this game to be good if it was more compatible. I was adjusting the club face to see how it was effecting the ball travel and I have to say that was good. I’ll keep persevering hopefully it will come good.
