About
Caverna is the digital adaptation of the board game of the same name created by Uwe Rosenberg. The game has the following game mechanics: Automatic Resource Growth, Tile Placement, Turn Order Claim Action, Worker Placement. The game has a Solomode and Multiplayer option. You can also play against the AI. It is a turnbased game that you can play live but also asynchronously. It can be played with 1-7 players. You have 2 options for the look of the game. The classic board game appearance and our 3D interpretation.
Caverna makes you the head of a dwarf tribe, living in a small cavern.
You cultivate the forest in front of your cavern and dig deeper into the mountain throughout the game. By furnishing rooms in your caverns you make space to grow your tribe and and create new goods from your resources. Deeper into the mountain you will find fountains as well as ore and gem mines. It’s on you to decide how much ore and gems you want to mine, giving you the opportunity to forge weapons and go on adventures; a new way to do things in the game instead of using actions with your workers. Outside your cavern you can clear the forest, cultivate fields, fence pastures and grow crops or breed animals. All this in order to increase your wealth and become the strongest and best tribe leader of them all!

This adaptation of the board game deals with the sprawl of furnishing tiles and worker placement spaces very well. You can toggle them on and off when you need to, as well as moving them side to side. Really fun game with a really good digital adaptation.
Caverna in its table top form introduced me to the worker placement genre and in turn opened my mind to analog gaming. How ironic to now be playing it on my computer. If you are already a fan (as I was), you should really enjoy this version. It's a great way to keep the rules fresh in your mind and compete with CPU opponents. If you're new to Caverna, I'm not sure if I can recommend this digital iteration as it exists today. The tutorial could really use some improvement. If I had not played the game previously, I could see myself quitting out of frustration. Having said this, the devs seem committed to improving their product as time goes on, and you could watch a tutorial on YouTube if you're really committed. I have noticed that some of the things that others have complained about were fixed by the time I started playing. And honestly, that is my biggest complaint; I had no idea this game was out on Steam until today! It was purely my curiosity that compelled me to search for 'Caverna' here on Steam. Hopefully enough folks purchase the game so the devs can increase their marketing budget.
I am very glad they made this, now I can play "the boardgame" more than once a year.
Just like the board game but nice animated graphics and no downtime.
Tenho o jogo fisico e comprei para treinar. Muito bem feito. Destaque para a IA do jogo que é muito boa.
Caverna is a excellent game, and this digital version is very good. The weekly challenge and leaderboard are very welcome!
Not spanish. When this lenguage is realize, i will change my valoration. Please harry up!!
There is no one to play against
Uwe Rosenburg is a legendary game designer and this is a faithful adaptation of one of his masterpieces. I wish it included the expansions and various "promo" tiles, but the base game is enough. The lack of "AI only" matches to study strategy is a bummer considering other Digidiced games have this. Do Feast for Odin next pls :)
