Tad is the main character of Tad, The Lost Explorer, a movie released in 2012 that we can now enjoy with a game about it. Explore fantastic and mysterious locations over a storyline similar to the movie. During the game you will have to solve a number of puzzles and do a lot of searching, this searching will not become a monotonous affair with all the parkours and hostilities that you will have to endure.
Nota Final: 6.5/10 🌍➡ https://errekgamer.com/2022/12/20/analisis-tadeo-jones/
Having played through this game fully once, I think I’m ready to write a review on it. Mind, I’m writing this still sick, and even played the game sick so that may colour some of my opinions. First off, for someone who likes the franchise and the Tadeo movies. This is absolutely golden. Loved it, had it on my wishlist even before it released and grabbed it on release day for those reasons. It’s really fun and feels right in the same spirit as the movies. The graphics and the lighting especially feel stand out although not perfect on some of the character models, but that’s neither here nor there. I found it really fun and suiting. Secondly: this is very playable while sick. It didn’t make me feel worse and was a good distraction. Some of the platforming was probably harder than it should have been because of been sick, but that’s on me not on the game itself. The platforming and puzzle sections were really fun and just the right level of challenging, even if there were some sections where the camera just kind of killed me and others where the hitbox on obstacles were a little bit-- awkward. Definitely can see myself coming back when feeling better to try and 100% the areas I didn’t finish fully yet. Thirdly: The chase sequence level-- Just... the whole of it. PAIN. I don’t know who the designer behind that one was but my hand hates you. Holding down the accelerate button the whole way through as well the whole making the chasers faster with no room for error, just suuuucked. But also those kinds of levels aren’t my favourite anyway. But also for some reason it... didn’t unlock or register me as passing it in the menu for some reason? So my accomplishment on that level just doesn’t count which is its own kind of pain. Fourth: Mummy as the narrator was just the BEST design choice. As well the differences from the movie to the game. Love that we get to play as Sara and Ramona in parts and it’s not just Tad holding the spotlight all the way through. On that though, the stealth sections were a bit... interesting. Again, not my kind of level though so that one is more on me. But they were very forgiving which helped a lot as well. Also I had a lot of amusement when I stepped away for a brief period and come back to myself spawning and getting instantly caught in one section. Top comedy. Fifth: This game did not have to reward exploration and goofing around as much as it did. As well just the scope of the game in general. Each level, or section of levels took me something like 4 hours per area. There’s just, so much here. I wasn’t expecting it to be as big or involved as it actually is. All the brushes to find as well the artifacts, it really makes you want to spend the time and explore and feels worth it to do so. Mind I did have a couple issues, and there’s a small frustration getting stuck at 99% completion, or it not even registering your completion like the boat chase but really, small issues for the whole on how much there is. I will be playing more to try and complete it fully... Finally: It’s just FUN! Which is really what I can say the best of for. A few small glitches did pop up here or there. The boat chase not unlocking/registering as complete, in some places I would get stuck on or even fall through bits of the level geometry-- but those are glitches that happen in every game sometimes. And ultimately whether you’re a fan of Tad and his adventures or not, this is a good puzzle-platformer with some stealth sections and a pretty intense chase section that everyone can enjoy. Or at least your kids can enjoy it, this definitely comes across at the end as a kids game, or for those who’re still kids at heart like me.
After several hours of enjoyable 3D/2.5D platform exploration, it was disappointing to find that the boat race stage is not actually possible to complete - getting a decent boost from a jump or not having one of the other boats obstructing your way is a matter of sheer blind luck, there is no sense to the timing and the police boats catch up so fast, it is impossible to do anything other than hold the trigger down and hope that everything happens at exactly the right moment for you to make it - which, of course, it doesn't. Videos I have watched online show no additional boats on this stage - either moving motorboats or stationary rowboats, a significant reduction in the number of jetties and a decent speed boost for every jump hit - to the point where the cops were falling back. So it would seem that whichever version these videos were recorded from, the developers had realised that there were problems in this stage and corrected it. It's such a shame, because the rest of the game is gorgeous and I had really enjoyed playing up to this point; my only regret is that given how long it took me to reach this point, it was too late to request a refund.
Who the f❗k is Tad the Lost Explorer? 👀
Went into this game blind. Having never seen or even heard of the films by the same name. Thought it looked like a cool platformer similar to the likes of Crash Bandicoot and it is. Got it on sale for £6.97, well worth every penny.
3,5/ 10 👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
Weitere Rezensionen von mir
(-> meine kleine Minikuratorengruppe:
Outstanding graphics defeated by brain dead game play and generic dialogue. Leave out Cloud Saving and no tangible save files to back up and you've got a 20 dollar waste of time.
