To find a way home you’ll need to explore every inch of the island, and record monsters to your trusty cassette tapes to gain their abilities!
Faced with the constant threat of monster attacks, the residents of Harbourtown, New Wirral choose to fight fire with fire. Record a monster to tape, then play it back to take on its form for battle!
Getting close to your companion has benefits–while transformed you can combine your strengths to gain the upper hand in battle! Any two monster forms can be fused to produce unique, fully-animated new fusion forms.

TL;DR - The game is fun, quite relaxing even BUT the "fun" part is relatively short (The main quest). As soon as that main quest is over, the game gets insanely repetitive and unpleasant. Pros - Family friendly and relaxing - Some people complain about the text, I feel that's how I would talk with my IRL friends, so I find it quite enjoyable - Story is intriguing - it keeps you hooked to find what will happen next. - Exploration is not too easy BUT also not too hard, just the right spot. - So many different monsters to choose from (see the meh) - There's mods, and you can play with mods without losing achievements - Reasonable play time for the price (buy in sales) MEH - Combat is very easy (I have all difficulty sliders cranked up to the max) - There's really stronger monster than others, leading to useless overall monsters - When you switch partner, whichever monster you had on them follows them, leading to a required switch-a-roo everytime you change partner. BAD - Endgame is hyper repetitive (get 3 quests in a pool of i'd say 5-6 different quests - do them, rince and repeat) - Bootlegs rarity is absurd. - UI and UX controls are horribad (enter to open/close the menu, but not to choose entries UNLESS you are in the main menu, sorting is terribad without mods, mass recycling is not fine enough, etc)

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's a mixture of real and peak! It's called reak! If you're a fan of pokemon, music, and are interested in the concept of mixing art styles and using the medium a story is in to your advantage, this is the game for you. I cannot recommend it enough. This game has probably changed me. 10/10

At the time of writing this review I've completed the main story mission, there are still other postgame stuff to do but i think im mostly done with the game I enjoyed my time with the game, the soundtracks are actually quite great. The combat is great as well, it's like pokemon but with their own twists which i do much prefer compared to pokemon itself My only real complain which only existed at the beginning of the game, is how the types of monster interact with each other. It can feel a bit overwhelming at the start but eventually you do get kinda used to it Completed the main mission without really minmaxing my team, was using mostly the same monsters that i used since the beginning-mid game. So the fact that you can complete the game with basically any monsters that you enjoy is also great Another thing that i feel the need to mention is that the platforming in this game can feel quite... unique sometimes, using the boxes/stones you can kinda double jump and get to places that you're probably not supposed to get to yet
Do you like customizability in your monster catchers? Then you'll love Cassette Beasts, 'nuff said. You will get so much replayability out of this baby if you enjoy the gameplay.
lots a fun
Great game. You can play your monsters the way you want (attack/tank/heal/aoe/buff/debuff or a mix). Nice and funny story, characters are not bland.
任务指引做的好烂,强度曲线做的好烂,本来地图就没啥限制,稍微走两步练个级就被打残了,还只能飞回咖啡厅,篝火回血太费材料了
Picked it up during the steam sale. Pretty fun little creature collector. Had some texture bug with my AMD card, so I had to play it on my steam deck.
